Status: Under Assessment X Needs Further Investigation Completed CWM-61 (assessment form) available Form CWM-62 (grant application) available Notes: Sculpture depicting Regimental Quartermaster Ira Barnes Dutton (aka, Brother Joseph Dutton) in Civil War dress uniform. Dutton served in the 13th Wisconsin Infantry from 9 Sept. 1861 to 13 Dec. 1865. Converting to Catholicism in 1883, he changed his name to honor St. Joseph. He came to Molokai in 1886 to devote the remainder of his life to service in the leper colony on the island. Dutton died in Kalawao in 1931.

This is a twin sculpture to one installed in Honolulu in 2013 (HI-Honolulu-Manao-StFrancisSchool-Statue-Dutton-2013).
