7.3 I legally own an (make) in the ……….. calibre with serial number 2268 and licence number 6385520 (Annexure A15). I use this rifle for the hunting of medium sized game from Impala to Reedbuck & Red Hartebeest in both the Bushveld and for Blesbok in the open flats of the Karoo and Free State. The hand loaded hunting cartridges (bullet weight – 165gr Peregrine VRG4) I use in this rifle is purposely formulated for the set-up of the rifle to ascertain accurate shots up to 300m to ensure a one-shot-kill, and is not suited for long-range sport shooting up to 1,000m for which the rifle this application refers to, is meant for. I do use this rifle for long range shooting with 155gr Nosler Competition bullets, but it just does not have the capacity to shot accurately over 350m.

7.7 I legally own a (make) in the .22 calibre with serial number …..……… and licence number ……..…. (Annexure A16). I use this rifle for sport shooting to keep my eye in and to teach my grandchildren to handle firearms safely and to learn them shoot. This rifle is definitely not suited for long-range sport shooting up to 1,000m for which the rifle this application refers to, is meant for.

8. PURPOSE OF USE OF NEW (make) ………………….–(calibre)…………….., with serial number......

8.1 As can be seen from the content of paragraph 7 above, I do not own any semi-auto rifle / carbine that can for fill the need of and which has the capable and accurate for rapid shooting for the sport shooting categories that I would like to compete or part take in. That then also forms the basis for this application to acquire this semi-auto rifle //carbine, which is specifically built for rapid fire against time.

8.3 Short description and capabilities of this firearm (not multiple pages of history and data)

......

8.5 I am a member of the National Hunting and Shooting Association and owning this semi-auto for sport shooting will allow me to also participate in their annual Postal Shooting Competitions on a more regular basis with this semi- auto Rifle /Carbine. It will also make it possible for me to compete in other shooting competitions and will also be able to join my friends on the shooting range with my own Semi-auto.

8.6 It is not convenient to have my own semi-auto rifle / carbine, seeing that I have to lent semi-auto from friends and family and have to arrange for shooting or invites from them to go and shoot. I am also in a disadvantage position during competitions and other shooting events, due to the fact that I have to slot in with other people’s arrangements and event selection, I cannot become competitive without equipment that fits my needs. It is not possible to fit in with other people’s time and arrangements due to my personnel circumstances.

8.7 NHSA is focused on presenting Sport Shooting in a context of leisure through its In- House Postal Shoots in which they present a total of 37 different exercises catering for all kids of firearms owners that may hold licenses for from small to the largest firearms. The advantage of the use of NHSA National Postal Target Shooting Competition is that I can shoot at any range of my choice, at any time of my choice that are recognized and or list by them.

8.8 The NHSA’s Postal Shooting Exercise in which I regularly compete, will be part take in (see Annexure A17), has the following specifications:

8.9 Below are a short description of the exercises I will part take in the Postal Shooting Exercises mentioned in the paragraph’s above. I have a need for a semi auto rifle /carbine that I would need for sport shooting events and competitions.

(see Annexure A18 and A19 as proof of my participation in the NHSA National Postal Target Shooting Competition)...... if applicable

9. RELOADING OF AMMUNITION

9.1 I have been reloading all my rifle calibres since (years),……..……., with exception of the .22LR which is a rimfire cartridge which cannot be reloaded (see Annexure A21 which depicts sections of my reloading room). . 9.3 I shall start my reloading for the (calibre and make )…………… with reload data recommended, my own reloading development parameters and process , which will surely differ for my current semi-auto rifle /carbine, as each firearm has its own optimum load characteristics and preferred load configuration for a specific calibre, overall cartridge length (bullet seating depth) for each individual calibre.
