Christopher Preist gives us a very complex look at the character of Slade Wilson as it deals with his relationship with his two kids Rose and Jericho in a really amazing way. I found myself having to slog through parts just to finish the book. Using the adva Gospel of Slade is a solid second volume that continues to delve into the fractured, toxic world of Slade Wilson and his family life. Slade Wilson Deathstroke is one of the older villains in the DC Universe This series is an Deathstroke: Vol 2 to bring him to the front as more of an anti hero Deathstroke is an interesting character but perhaps not heavy enough Deathstroke: Vol 2 carry his own series plus he remains a bastard Perhaps a more interesting character when he has a hero to play off of What I like the most about this series is that Christopher Priest doesn't care if you're confused. The art isn't bad and fits the story, and I still enjoy it but I would prefer more straight ahead stories rather than the meandering that's been going on so far. However, after Superman stuff is finished we get a Deathstroke in prison, his kids doing some bad shit, and then a single shot issue that has something Deathstroke: Vol 2 do with Deathstroke but very very different style and the ending twist to give it a whole Deathstroke: Vol 2 feeling. Written by a man who spent over a decade doing anything, but writing comics. Specifically, view spoiler [How does Deathstroke know that ripping out his own eyeball is a sufficient substitute for one Deathstroke: Vol 2 his children? DC Comics. It was pretty cool to see Deathstroke interacting with Superman and Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman looks so very good in this volume. Priest's writing is a case of 'show now, maybe explain later' but something is compelling me to read on and continue putting the pieces together. I thought Priest understood this character in the first volume after REBIRTH but this book is so confusing here with the back and forth time line, so much so that you don't care any more. Aug 04, Jeff rated it really Deathstroke: Vol 2 it. Other editions. Tomeu Deathstroke: Vol 2 Colorist. The saving grace here is the last story about gun violence, Chicago, and The Creeper. Characters look generic and have little sense of charm or originality about them. Thought i saw cover of green arrow but he didn't appear in this or vol 3. Then comes a two issue story, Four Rooms, which give Deathstroke's first adventure comes to a close in the first three issues of this volume, as The Professional which began in volume 1 concludes. Jun 30, Kyle Berk rated it really liked it Shelves: read-in I didn't read vol. Nov 25, Quentin Wallace rated it really liked it. To ask other readers questions about Deathstroke, Vol. He will always be a cold, twisted villain. The art in God Killer is gorgeous. Good to see some cameos from some of the bigger stars, though it obviously feels Deathstroke: Vol 2 a way to try and sell more comics by plastering them all over the covers. Apr 04, Jeff rated it liked it Shelves: comix. Collecting : Deathstroke Nov 23, Quentin Wallace rated it really liked it. He must look to his past for meaning. One of the most lethal and hardened antiheroes Deathstroke: Vol 2 the DC Universe is now a man without a mission and without something propelling him forward. Story: B, but th Tons of action! However, as the volume progresses, this otherwise passable narrative is muddled by random changes to characters and sudden shifts in plot. He's mixed up with gods and their offspring in this volume, and it works out better than I would have expected. I didn't like this too slow for my personal taste i prefer comics with a lot of action or suspense or Deathstroke: Vol 2 good story you could follow with this i didn't get any of that other then good art and colour choice. I don't know what purpose it serves other than to make readers angry and Deathstroke: Vol 2. There are a Deathstroke: Vol 2 of great moments, including a fantastic twist in the final issue, but a lot of the set-up gets in the way, and leaves me scratching my head when it comes to exactly Deathstroke: Vol 2 the implications of these cameos and sub-plots are meant to mean. Deathstroke: Vol 2 issue 11 in this collection? Deathstroke: Vol 2 first adventure comes to a close in the first three issues of this volume, as Deathstroke: Vol 2 Professional which began in volume 1 concludes. Deathstroke: Vol 2 the first time DC's actually publishing a Deathstroke series worth reading. In this book he battles Superman and it is pretty epic. Tony S. And right up until Deathstroke meets Lapetus, the story is smooth with just enough pathos he tries to leave a pre-job message with his kids, who despise him and the art violently detailed. Jason Paz Illustrator. This pisses off Wonder Woman. As far as retconning- Slade Wilson is 20 something and has his eye back. Priest also provides new takes on these characters that are wonderfully fun. And we get some great interactions with Deathstroke: Vol 2. He inadvertently sets the Titan free, then fights Wonder Woman and Superman until they have to team up to stop the Deathstroke: Vol 2. It tracking down a killer, deathstroke, going after gangbangers and such. Deathstroke, Vol. Aaron Riddle rated it it was amazing Jan 03, Sep 16, Sacha Valero rated it it was ok Shelves: comics. This relationship has also informed superhero comics themselves – going all the way back to Superman’s debut in Action Comics 1 (June 1938). As DC President Paul Levitz says of the development of the superhero: ‘There was an enormous desire to see social justice, a rectifying of corruption. Superman was a fulfillment of a pent-up passion for the heroic solution’ (quoted in Poniewozik 2002: 57). BATMAN, CATWOMAN, GOTHAM CITY, ET AL CREATED BY BOB KANE, PROPERTY OF DC ENTERTAINMENT, USED WITHOUT PERMISSION SPONTANEOUS GENERATION Prologue: Ivy's Song Weakness. If there was one thing that made her physically ill, it was weakness. Nature was not weak. Nature was the ultimate power. What could man make that Nature could not destroy? Their fleshy bodies, their cities, their pitiful notions of achievement? What was a church compared to a forest? A painting compared to a mountain, a symphony next to a flower… Well, actually, she liked music. Even her plants liked music. Mozart in particular. And there was nothing in Nature to compare it to. The mathematical underpinnings of music were absolutely man-made, and it had to be said, it was… beautiful. A THOUGHT THAT MADE HER WANT TO SCREAM! Beautiful belonged to Nature. It belonged to Flowers. It was hers, and this filthy animal, masculine, homo sapien, civilized, plant-eating THING had made something that was wholly theirs, wholly unique, and wholly beautiful. JUST HAVING THE THOUGHT MADE HER WANT TO RIP HER HAIR OUT BY THE ROOT! It was so weak. Pamela’s little thoughts and feelings. As the living embodiment of the Goddess Lifeforce, Poison Ivy rebelled at the idea of hating any part of herself, but that, that… Pamela had become such a burden. People made something beautiful. It was disgusting. But now she had that thought in her head, and it was all because of that part of herself that, for lack of a better term, she called Pam.
