FACT SHEET BOTSWANA Setari Camp Setari Camp is a brand-new Overview camp situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The camp has been specially designed on wooden walkways and platforms to make the most of the dramatic Delta views. There are daily flights from Johannesburg International Airport and Cape Town International airport on either South African Airlink or Air Botswana (please note that Air Botswana only fly the Johannesburg to Maun route). From Maun airport, it is another light aircraft flight to either Seronga or Old Jedibe Airstrip. The light aircraft can be organised directly with us. From Seronga or Old Jedibe, a 30 minute scenic boat transfer will take you directly to Setari. Media Statement For Immediate Release 07 November 2018 SA AIRLINK AND SAFAIR MERGER ABANDONED On 20 February 2018, the Commission prohibited the proposed merger between SA Airlink (Pty) Ltd (SA Airlink) and Safair Operations (Pty) Ltd (FlySafair). The Commission found that the proposed transaction is likely to result in a substantial prevention or lessening of competition in the market for scheduled passenger services. The Commission found that the merger is likely to result in the removal of an effective competitor (FlySafair) to SA Airlink particularly on the routes in which FlySafair competes against SA Airlink. FlySafair offers competitive prices and has been growing in the market both in terms of its existing routes as well as entering into new routes. On the other hand, SA Airlink has monopoly or near monopoly positions on most routes it currently operates on. FlySafair is also a potential competitor to SA Airlink on those routes which it has not yet entered but could potentially enter in future and therefore poses a competitive constraint on SA Airlink in this regard. This is especially so bearing in mind FlySafair’s current competitive pricing on most routes it operates in. The Commission found that there are significant price differentials between FlySafair and SA Airlink (with FlySafair being cheaper) and that if the merger were to be approved, there is a likelihood of price increases due to the loss of competition from the merger. The Commission further found that the proposed merger is likely to result in coordinated effects through the potential exchange of competitively sensitive information between South African Airways (SAA) and FlySafair (and SA Airlink) since SAA has a shareholding in SA Airlink.

MEDIA RELEASE SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS SUSPENDS ALL INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS UNTIL 31 May 2020 JOHANNESBURG, 20 March 2020 –South African Airways (SAA) has announced that it will immediately suspend all international operations until 31 May 2020 in response to a government travel ban aimed at stopping the transmission of the Coronavirus (Covid-19). The COVID-19 pandemic and attendant travel restrictions, resulted in substantial decline in demand for air travel. The situation caused many airlines across the world to ground aircraft, release their employees, and to cancel flights. In the case of SAA, this decision means that SAA will only render services on its regional and domestic routes. Following the declaration of the State of Disaster after the outbreak of COVID-19 in South Africa, the government announced a travel ban and issued regulations, which introduced certain measures aimed at combatting the spread or transmission of the virus. Amongst other things, the regulations, issued on Thursday state that: “Disembarkation of foreign nationals from the high-risk countries is suspended on airports upon arrival. Embarkation and disembarkation is permissible under the following circumstances: Disembarkation of returning South African citizens and permanent residents; embarkation of departing foreign nationals, disembarkation of a declared medical emergency; foreign nationals must be approved by port health services; upon landing, crew from high risk countries shall be subject to medical screening and quarantined for 21 days”. SAA operates in three markets that form part of countries listed in the travel ban as high-risk areas. These are the United States (Washington DC and New York, JFK), the United Kingdom (London, Heathrow) and Germany (Frankfurt and Munich).

Throughout 2016, EGYPTAIR faced various challenges that impacted the operating and financial performance of the group. Looking at this year’s (2015/2016) figures in context of the liquidity challenges the company achieved total revenue 17.912 billion. As for Revenue Passenger Km, it hit 17.442 billion with an annual total of 8.51m. We operate 220 daily departures, serving 72 airports in 47 countries. COMPETITION TRIBUNAL REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA Case No: 77/LM/Oct02 In the large merger between: South African Airways (Pty) Ltd and Air Chefs (Pty) Ltd _______________________________________________________________________ Reasons _______________________________________________________________________ Approval The Competition Tribunal issued a Merger Clearance Certificate on 25 October 2002 approving the merger without conditions. The reasons are set out below. The merger The transaction South African Airways (Pty) Ltd (ªSAAº) is buying all the remaining shares in Air Chefs (Pty) Ltd. This is a vertical merger where the customer, SAA, is acquiring an upstream service provider, Air Chefs. The parties to the transaction Transnet Ltd, a public company of which the South African Government is the sole shareholder, controls SAA. The primary target firm is Air Chefs (Pty) Ltd., a joint venture established between Transnet Ltd (holding 51% of the issued share capital) and Fedics Strategic Investments (Pty) Ltd (holding the remaining 49%). An evergreen management agreement vested control of Air Chefs with Fedics. Rational for the transaction SAA is concerned that it was paying too much for the catering services supplied by Air Chefs due to the Evergreen Management agreement, which contains a cost-plus 250% mechanism. It was also not satisfied with the service levels, that Air Chefs supplied. The Cabinet sub-committee on Restructuring recommended that the most viable restructuring option for SAA would be the acquisition of Air Chefs by SAA. Evaluating the merger Relevant market SAA operates in the airline passenger services market, with a generally limited accompanying freight and cargo service. SAA is the largest domestic airline in the country. Air Chefs operates in a market upstream from that of SAA, providing in-flight catering services to domestic, regional and international airlines, which entails, inter alia, the provision of meals, loading services, stock storage, chilling facilities and sanitation.
