Badass Band 47- MAKAR (hps://badassbandsblog.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/makar.jpg) Jonesing for a dynamic guy/girl duo to add to your music repertoire? Look no further music lovers. Not only is this duo talented musically, they are after this music fiend’s own heart considering that the members are writers aside from their songwriting, Andrea is even a published poet. They are quite out of the ordinary as you will find in listening to their tunes, and their range is broad which offers ear solace to any kind of music lover. Badass Band 47 is New York’s MAKAR. MAKAR is another band that found me, and once their tunes hit my ears, I had a hard time deciding which of them I liked best. It was almost as if I went into super ADD mode, I was clicking on all their tracks trying to decide which I liked best right off the bat and they were all so different I couldn’t sele on one. I ended up forcing myself to just download them all and listen to them in order from start to finish. So, that being said, let’s start by talking about the vocals. Andrea’s vocals I can really only describe as light and refreshing. They have power, but not in the traditional sense, in the sense that they are so soft and singsongy that you just can help but listen. For me this is especially exemplified on songs like ‘I Wanna Know What I Don’t Know’ or ‘Belong Here’ As for Mark, his voice is deep but also keeps the more light, singsongy quality that Andrea’s has.

WSP 64: Revolution: The Songwriting of The Beatles Stanford Continuing Studies, Fall 2016 Sunday, December 4, 2016 Dr. Joel Phillip Friedman A Note from the Instructor: Through a selection of songs this weekend workshop will explore the evolution of Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison as composer/lyricists as they developed from mere local cover band to arguably some of the most influential songwriters of the 20th century. Our goal is to understand how special and sophisticated their song writing could be on many different levels as the power and originality of their astonishing body of creative work still speaks loudly and clearly today. In some cases we will delve into individual songs deeply. In other cases, we will discuss specifics of harmony, meter, or phrasing by briefly referencing a number of different songs. A byproduct of our investigation will be to find similarities and connections between songs, authors, and even periods. Keep in mind that time does not permit us to cover every song listed. As time permits we will also explore: the roles producer George Martin, the famed engineers of Abbey Road played; the revolutionary recording procedures and techniques they initiated; and The Beatles’ diverse creative influences (including R&B and Motown artists, classic rockers, and decidedly non-rock influences such as British Music Hall, Indian classical music, and the Classical avant-garde). While the course is not designed for literate musicians, some knowledge of the basics of music – e.g. meter and harmony – will come in very handy. But, have no fear! If you are inexperienced or unsure I am more than happy to explain.

1 Three hours of GEORGE HARRISONGS – With and without the Beatles to celebrate his birth which took place this week 72 years ago. PLAYLIST Feb.22nd 2015 2 OPEN/9am George Harrison – Apple Scruffs - All Things Must Pass ‘70 This was a salute to the girls (and sometimes boys) who stood vigil at Apple, Abbey Road and anyplace a Fab was to likely to be. Upon recording the tune, George invited the “Apple Scruffs,” into the studio to have a listen. The Beatles - I Want To Tell You - Revolver (Harrison) Lead vocal: George The backing track was recorded in five takes on June 2, 1966. George Harrison's third song on “Revolver,” was, he later said, "about the avalanche of thoughts that are so hard to write down or say or transmit." Once again Harrison had no idea what to call his composition. The band briefly kicked around random ideas, and the song was recorded under the working title “Laxton's Superb,” a type of apple. It later became known as “I Don't Know,” which was George’s answer when producer George Martin asked whether Harrison had come up with a title. By the day of the final mix (June 6, 1966), Harrison had settled on the title “I Want To Tell You.” Contains the first bass overdub on a Beatles record. Paul had his bass recorded on a different track really allowed for more options when it came time to mix the song. On U.S. album: Revolver - Capitol LP 3 The Beatles - Blue Jay Way - Magical Mystery Tour (EP) (Harrison) Lead vocal: George Written by George Harrison on August 1, 1967 while vacationing in a rented house in the Hollywood Hills above Los Angeles.

The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill Hey Jude, I Want To Tell You, In My Life, it seems like only Yesterday I had a Ticket To Ride, to go on a Magical Mystery Tour to find out what Your Mother Should Know about the restaurant business. I’m Down, I said, There’s A Place, Don’t Pass Me By, and thought Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, Why Don’t We Do It In The Road? Abbey Road, on Blue Jay Way? I Will, I said, knowing I’d be Fixing A Hole (actually many holes) with Maxwell’s Silver Hammer. For No One gave me The Word or would Tell Me Why, or Ask Me Why, I got No Reply. I Should Have Known Better. In the beginning, it was Misery and A Hard Day’s Night, and I had Yer Blues. Bankers said Don’t Bother Me for Money (That’s What I Want) to pay the Taxman. Not A Second Time or Any Time At All! I wanted to Cry Baby Cry, Because, they said, Honey Don’t, Slow Down, You Can’t Do That, and don’t Get Back to us! But Tomorrow Never Knows. I said Think For Yourself, Act Naturally and We Can Work It Out if we just Come Together. I’ve Got a Feeling about the Revolution and I just can’t Let It Be. • Wikipedia Beetles Dung Beetles Are Beetles That Feed on Feces
Wikipedia beetles Dung beetles are beetles that feed on feces. Some species of dung beetles can bury dung times their own mass in one night. Many dung beetles, known as rollers , roll dung into round balls, which are used as a food source or breeding chambers. Others, known as tunnelers , bury the dung wherever they find it. A third group, the dwellers , neither roll nor burrow: they simply live in manure. They are often attracted by the dung collected by burrowing owls. There are dung beetle species of different colours and sizes, and some functional traits such as body mass or biomass and leg length can have high levels of variability. All the species belong to the superfamily Scarabaeoidea , most of them to the subfamilies Scarabaeinae and Aphodiinae of the family Scarabaeidae scarab beetles. As most species of Scarabaeinae feed exclusively on feces, that subfamily is often dubbed true dung beetles. There are dung-feeding beetles which belong to other families, such as the Geotrupidae the earth-boring dung beetle. The Scarabaeinae alone comprises more than 5, species. The nocturnal African dung beetle Scarabaeus satyrus is one of the few known non-vertebrate animals that navigate and orient themselves using the Milky Way. Dung beetles are not a single taxonomic group; dung feeding is found in a number of families of beetles, so the behaviour cannot be assumed to have evolved only once. Dung beetles live in many habitats , including desert, grasslands and savannas , [9] farmlands , and native and planted forests. They are found on all continents except Antarctica. They eat the dung of herbivores and omnivores , and prefer that produced by the latter.
