In the Old Testament Jubilee is a radical concept – that every fiftieth year there will be a redistribution of property and wealth. This rooted in the conviction that everything is a gift from God anyway and that gifts are for sharing. There is a real challenge for us, not just about property and money but about the whole way we understand the gifts God gives us. It is too easy to think that these are our possessions which we need to protect when of course they are always gifts for sharing.
