Northwest Conference Track & Field Championships 2021 Hosted by Pacific University Three-time defending Northwest Conference Champion George Fox University looks to make it four-in-a-row, coming in as the favorite to the 2021 NWC Championships hosted by Pacific University. George Fox won the 2019 title with 212 points, enjoying a 53-point advantage on runner-up Whitworth University. 19 points is all that separated third place from sixth and the 2021 championships are shaping up to be another tight battle in the team standings. The Bruins hold the top performer in nine of the 18 individual events, including three returning champions from the last NWC meet back in 2019. Pacific Lutheran University, Whit- worth, and Willamette University boast the top times in two 2019 Rewind individual events while Lewis & Clark College, Linfield College, and the University of Puget Sound have the top performer in Men’s Team Scores one event. George Fox 212 Headlining the returning champions is Whitworth’s Nicholas Whitworth 159 McGill. McGill already successfully defending his decathlon Pacific 90 title at the NWC Multi-Events Championships and will gun for Willamette 89 another title in the javelin, entering that competition with the Linfield 73 Pacific Lutheran 71 second-best throw in the league. The Bruins dominated the 2019 NWC Championships, scor- ing 230 points to outdistance runner-up Whitworth University by 93-points. Second through fourth was a dogfight with just MEET PREVIEW 15-points separating runner-up Whitworth from fourth place Pacific University. Pacific Lutheran University heads into the 2021 champion- ships in Forest Grove, Oregon with the top performances in seven events. Defending champ GFU has the top effort in six individual events while host Pacific holds the top performance in four events. University of Puget Sound and Linfield Univer- sity both have the top performance in one event. 2019 Rewind There are five returning champions from 2019, including Women’s Team Scores two from the host Boxers. 2019 triple jump champion Jenna Hoiland heads into Thursday with the top mark in the league George Fox 230 while hammer throw champion Brooke France holds the sec- Whitworth 137 ond best throw in the hammer and the top mark in the discus Pacific Lutheran 132 this season.
