In harmony with a recommendation of the General Conference Officers, it was--

VOTED, That the General Hospital Council be authorized to hold a meeting on August 30, 1971, at Madison Hospital, Madison, Tennessee.

MISSION '72--AREA MEETINGS:

It is necessary to hold Mission '72 Area Briefing Meetings for union and local conference Ministerial Association Secretaries, and as many union and local conference Presidents as might be able to attend. On recommendation of the General Conference Officers, it was--

VOTED, That Mission '72 Area Briefing Meetings for union and local conference Ministerial Association Secretaries and union and local conference Presidents be held as follows:

Atlantic and Columbia Unions Harrisburg, Penna. August 2 (8:30 A.M.), 1971 Lake, Northern and Central Unions Des Moines, Iowa August 3 (8:30 A.M.), 1971 North Pacific and Pacific Unions San Francisco, Calif. • ATLANTIC UNION CONFERENCE-- REQUESTS TO BORROW FUNDS:

On request of the Atlantic Union and the New York Conferences, and in harmony with the recommendation of the Committee on Borrowing and Distribution of Funds, it was--

VOTED, To authorize the borrowing of funds on a mortgage plan up to $29,000 for a minister's parsonage in Buffalo, New York. The total cost of the parsonage is estimated at $36,900. It is understood that this obligation will be underwritten by the above organization and will be fully paid within twenty years from rental income.

On request of the Atlantic Union and the Northern New England Conferences, and in harmony with the recommendation of the Committee on Borrowing and Distribution of Funds, it was--

VOTED, To authorize the borrowing of funds up to $2,256,921 for addition to and renovation of the Parkview Memorial Hospital, the total cost of which project is estimated at $2,256,921. It is understood that this loan will be underwritten by the above organizations and will be fully paid within nineteen years from hospital funds.

LAKE UNION CONFERENCE--REQUEST TO BORROW FUNDS:

On request of the Lake Union and the Michigan Conferences, and in harmony with the recommendation of the Committee on Borrowing and Distribution of Funds, it was--

VOTED, To authorize the borrowing of funds up to $31,500 for the Marshall, Michigan, church building, the total cost of which is estimated at $63,000. It is understood that this loan will be underwritten by the above organizations and will be fully paid within five years from appropriations and members' pledges.

HOSPITAL FINANCIAL OFFICERS' WORKSHOP: The General Hospital Council has informed the General Conference Officers that numerous hospital administrators and hospital financial officers will be in attendance at the American Hospital Association meeting in Chicago, Illinois, August 23-26, 1971. The Council has requested authorization for a two-day work- shop for financial officers (administrators, assistant administrators, controllers, chief accountants) of denominational hospitals who have been approved by their institutions to attend the A.H.A. Convention. VOTED, To authorize the Hospital Financial Officers' Workshop in Chicago, Illinois, August 26, 27, 1971.

VOTED, To approve the request to borrow up to $2,000,000 for the development of a nursing home, with the understanding that the total borrowings will be liqui- dated within twenty-three years from earnings of the new institution.

SOUTHERN UNION CONFERENCE—REQUEST TO BORROW FUNDS:

On request of the Southern Union and the Georgia-Cumberland Conferences and in harmony with the recommendation of the Committee on Borrowing and Distribution of Funds, it was--

VOTED, To approve the request to borrow up to $60,000 to cover the cost of the Apison, Tennessee, school building, with the understanding that the total loan is underwritten by the union and the local conference and will be fully paid within five years from members' pledges.

LAZE UNION CONFERENCE-- REQUESTS TO BORROW FUNDS: On request of the Lake Union and Indiana Conferences, and in harmony with the recommendation of the Borrowing and Distribution of Funds Committee, it was--

VOTED, To approve the borrowing of funds up to $60,000 for the Indianapolis Southside church building, the total cost of which is estimated at $172,500. It is understood that this loan will be underwritten by the above organizations and will be fully paid within five years from pledges and appropriations committed by the union and the local conferences.

On request of the Lake Union and Michigan Conferences, and in harmony with the recommendation of the Borrowing and Distribution of Funds Committee, it was--

VOTED, To approve the borrowing of funds up to an additional $25,000 ($75,000 approved in May, 1971) for the Ithaca church building, the total cost of which is estimated at $195,000. It is understood that this loan will be underwritten by the above organizations and will be fully paid within five years from pledges.

NORTH PACIFIC UNION CONFERENCE-- REQUEST TO BORROW FUNDS: On request of the North Pacific Union and Washington Conferences, and in harmony with the recommendation of the Borrowing and Distribution of Funds Committee, it was--

VOTED, To approve the borrowing of funds up to $25,000 for the Buena Vista school classroom building, the total cost of which project is estimated at $73,000.
