Vale Magazine 13 ON THE SPOT “I’d cancel HS2 and use the A Knight in money on the NHS and flood stylish armour defences” There was a collective sharp intake of breath when the news broke that Evesham high street’s oldest retail business was closing its doors. But we persuaded its popular manager Reg Slade to open up again... for our challenging On the Spot Q&A feature. Knights Menswear was a stylish town centre stalwart for 117 years, moving from the market place in 1907. There were just two managers in all that time, and Reg Slade, who originally joined rival Lloyds as a bright-eyed 15-year-old, notched up 43 years in the top spot.
