ASEAN tourism is heading towards a very exciting period of vast potential development. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has projected that Asia Pacific will gain a major market share of new arrivals in tourism – an additional of 331 million beginning 2010 to reach 535 million by 2030. It is noteworthy that the Southeast Asia region is anticipated to grow at a faster rate compared with the global average during this period. Given this promising landscape of tourism, it is critical that ASEAN member nations work together to strengthen the region as one tourism destination. With ASEAN members advancing, enhancing and deepening strategic partnerships with one another, the integration will certainly bring about a more attractive and dynamic tourism industry. Subsequently, these efforts will also bring the peoples of ASEAN closer and lay a firm foundation for a more peaceful, stable and prosperous region. I am confident that given our long history of friendship together, we will advance ASEAN as a special community for tourism in the region to flourish. In this regard, I take the opportunity to thank and congratulate everyone involved in realising the ASEAN Tourism Packages, an important step towards an integrated tourism region. -

Batari Kencana Tour and Travel is a company engaged in the business of tour and travel. Batari Kencana Tour and Travel was established on September 7th, 2012. It was built by PT. LAJANGIROE. The office is located at Slamet Riyadi 246 Street. The office location is strategic, because it is located at one of the main streets in Solo City. Mirza Ananda and Dyah Ratna Heryati are the owner of this company. Mirza Ananda is the pioneer of this business by establishing Batari Tour and Travel agencies in Makassar, South Sulawesi and Boyolali, Central Java. She started her business by building Batik Kencana Murni in Solo. Along with Mirza Ananda and Dyah Ratna Heryati are cooperated to develop their business by establishing travel agencies in Solo City named Batari Kencana Tour and Travel. There are three shifts in Batari Kencana Tour and Travel. They are morning shift, middle shift and evening shift. Morning shift starts at 8 AM until 4 PM. The most of employees work in this shift. The next shift is middle shift which starts from 10 AM to 6 PM. The purpose of this research to analyze the character values from Ngendar tradition. The types of this research are qualitative which ethnographic approach is. These location of this research in Puseh Pungit temple in Penataran Agung areal, Banjar Sekarmukti, Pangsan Village. Researcher using purposive sampling technique to determine information, collecting the data’s using observation, interviews, literature studies and documentation. The descriptive qualitative technique’ that are use to data analyses. The result of this research to show; first is process of Ngendar as heritage that celebrated in six months as an expression about grateful to the God (Ida Sang Hyang Widi Wasa). The reasons why these traditions’ always celebrated by the children’s are affected from holiness, customs and cultures. Second, Ngendar on the naming the characters which is as understanding character children’s with their religion that are affected by two things, the naming about religion behavior with way reprimand and appreciation through their confidence (Sradha) and Karma Phala Sradha. Next function is to grow their awareness. -

The development of several sectors which are the main potential to be developed, namely the tourism sector, the agricultural sector, the economic sector which is a form of spatial use. From this development, of course, it involves various interest groups in the utilization of tourism space in the coastal area of Tanah Lot. From the various interest groups that exist, there will be competition between the interest groups and stakeholders, which is accompanied by negotiations. The purpose of this research is to understand in depth the conflicts related to the use of tourism space in the coastal area of Tanah Lot. In this study, using a qualitative method with a naturalistic approach to produce descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words of the person or object being observed. For the discussion and analysis of the data carried out inductively. In this study, observations were made to see directly the land use process that occurred in the coastal area of Tanah Lot. The theoretical basis which is used as an assumption in this observation is the zoning theory of spatial use, interest group theory, conflict theory, land use conversion theory, coastal area theory and tourism theory. -

Improvement of Indonesian Tourism Sectors to Compete in Southeast Asia
Vincent Jonathan Halim 130218117 IMPROVEMENT OF INDONESIAN TOURISM SECTORS TO COMPETE IN SOUTHEAST ASIA Tourism is an activity that directly touches and engages the community, thus bringing various benefits to the local community and its surroundings. Even tourism is said to have an extraordinary breakthrough energy, which is able to make local people experience metamorphosis in various aspects such as environment, social value & knowledge, job opportunities & opportunities. In the last decade, Indonesia's tourism sector has continued to expand and diversify. Not surprisingly, the government hopes that the tourism sector can bring fresh air in the midst of Indonesia's increasingly slumping oil and gas (oil and gas) and non-oil and gas sectors. Meanwhile, last year, the tourism sector was estimated to be able to contribute to foreign exchange of $ 17.6 billion, an increase of 9.3% from $ 16.1 billion in 2018. This is due to the increasing number of foreign tourist arrivals (tourists). The number of foreign tourists to Indonesia nearly doubled in a decade to 15.8 million in 2018 from 6.2 million in 2008. The government needs extra hard work to ensure the contribution of the tourism sector and competitiveness in South East Asia, also to curb the decline in foreign exchange earnings amid the sluggish world economy. The contribution of the tourism sector internationally and nationally shows positive economic prospects. The role of the government in the form of regulations and policies in tourism development efforts in Indonesia's economic development plan, namely the 2015-2019 RPJMN, shows that the government is aware of the great benefits provided by the tourism sector. -

The perceived destination image of Indonesia: an assessment on travel blogs written by the industry’s top markets By Bernadeth Petriana A thesis submitted to the Victoria University of Wellington in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Tourism Management Victoria University of Wellington 2017 1 Abstract The tourist gaze theory suggests that tourists are taught by the destination marketing organisation to know how, when, and where to look. However, the birth of travel blogs has challenged this image as they offer the public “unfiltered” information. Travel bloggers have become more powerful in influencing the decision making of potential tourists. This study employs textual and photographic content analysis to investigate the destination image of Indonesia held by the industry’s key markets; Singapore and Australia. 106 blog entries and over 1,500 pictures were content analysed, and the results suggest that overall tourists tended to have positive images of Indonesia. International tourists are still very much concentrated in the traditionally popular places such as Bali and Jakarta. Negative images of Indonesia include inadequate infrastructure, ineffective wildlife protection, and westernisation of Bali. Natural and cultural resources are proven in this thesis to be Indonesia’s top tourism products. Influenced by their cultural backgrounds, Singaporean and Australian bloggers have demonstrated a dissimilar tourist gaze. The current study also analysed the bloggers’ image of Indonesia as opposed to the image projected by the government through the national tourism brand “Wonderful Indonesia”. The results indicate a narrow gap between the two images. Implications for Indonesian tourism practitioners include stronger law enforcement to preserve local culture and natural attractions, and recognising the market’s preference to promote other destinations. -

Email: [email protected] Abstract Blitar Regency has a lot of tourism sector, one of which is in the historical Palah Penataran Temple. Palah Penataran Temple is the largest temple complex in East Java and one of the main attractions in Blitar. As a main tourist attraction, promotional activities should be the maximum. This research aims to increase public awareness of historical knowledge about the Palah Penataran Temple. So beside visitors who come to enjoy the beauty of Palah Penataran Temple also understand the historical. Data collection technique is doing by observation, interviews and documentation to obtain the Branding that will be applied to the Palah Penataran Temple. It brings the concept of "grandeur" Candi Penataran Palah are implemented in the design of media promotion starting from a color photo, illustrations, text, typography and logo. The results of this research are expected tourists visiting the Palah Penataran Temple to increase they knowledge about the historcal and finally is expected to increase a sense of concern in history of Palah Penataran Temple..
