Voices Against Violence • Contents Part of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts’ “Stop the violence – speak out for girls’ rights” campaign A non-formal education programme for children and youth to help stop violence against girls and young women HANDBOOK FOR GROUP LEADERS Having open and honest discussions about what violence is, in a safe environment, can have a massive impact in stopping violence Sangam World Centre leader This curriculum was developed by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and UN Women, with input from 20 pilot Member Organizations and two WAGGGS World Centres. It has been developed for worldwide use and can be delivered to girl-only or co-educational groups from the ages of 5 to 25 years. Highlights of the quarter 3rd AsPac SGF Committee Meet => went on successfully on 27 and 28 March 2015 in Kuala Lumpur hosted by B P Guild Malaysia. The highlights are as follows: - Meet was attended by elected committee members from Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and invited members from Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Official invitees from APR WOSM and APR WAGGGS were also joined. Welcome dinner was hosted by Mr. Rabbani of Bangladesh NSGF residing in KL on 26th March 2015 at his residence. All the members enjoyed hospitality with various cuisines spread out to every ones taste. It was homely and friendly integration of all members. On 27th March 2015 the members assembled in Meeting room of WOSM KL Office at 0830 hours for technical deliberations, discussions and interactions. Mr. Abdullah Rasheed President of Maldivian NSGF and Consultant of AsPac SGF Committee facilitated the meet in WOSM. The house stood for personal prayer and all the members introduced themselves, Welcome address was delivered by Mr. Gunaselan T Treasurer AsPac SGF Committee and President of BP Guild Malaysia being official host.

Section I: Instructions The first section explains how to complete the application and reviews the application process. It is for reference only and should not be submitted with the application form.     Role Description Sangam Intern Sangam World Centre is one of the World Centres of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Since the Centre’s beginning in 1966, Sangam has been a safe, neutral place for members of Guiding and Scouting to come together to share their experiences as well as the culture and traditions of their homelands and Member Organizations. Intern Programme Objectives The objectives of Sangam’s Intern Programme are the same as outlined by the World Centres Committee for any World Centre volunteer: 1. Gain valuable work experience and life skills such as leadership 2. Learn about WAGGGS, its Member Organisations, themes, projects, regions and World Centres 3. Share the international friendship that Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting offers 4. Support WAGGGS by helping the Centres operate effectively 5. Participate/facilitate in activities or workshops relating to community leadership or advocacy 6. Experience the unique culture of India, through its traditions, history and people 7. Gain an international experience, learning about different cultures through the diversity at the Centres 8. Be prepared to represent WAGGGS and be more involved in your own MOs Sangam’s Intern Programme is supported by the Intern Syllabus and the personal feedback and evaluations the Sangam Intern will participate in at least three times during their term. Role Overview The Sangam Intern Develops personally and professionally while building skills and knowledge related to WAGGGS and the World Centres, Sangam, and the local community of Pune, India. Will develop their professional skills through active participation in the daily operations of Sangam World Centre and give service to Sangam, to the local community and to Guides and Scouts from around the world by sharing their skills and expertise.
