County, in Ma rch enjoyable and informative .. I Fortunately, the records there are almost intact, not having been damaged by fire. Microfilming the "loose oapers" in the Rec"Ord Room is proceeding apace at the hand J of Mr. Rick Knoblich under the technical direction of the Virginia State Archivist and funded by a C.E.T.A . grant. Our "Annual Genealogical Workshop~ s cheduled for May l -7th, will be held at Virginia Western Community College, Duncan Hall, Roam 210, Roanoke, V~. The prog-ram for the day is oresented elsewhere in this issue of the the VAN. Contact General Chairman Bob Steadham ( 703) 774- 8946 for deatils. On June 2l, we will visit East End Cemetary, Salem, Va. to map grave ·locations and to learn how to "rub" gravestones. Contact Jim Avery, (703) 982:..0492~. The July meeting is to be a .fun thing, dedicated mainly to our out-bf-town members (i.e., t~ose domiciled more than 100 miles from Roanoke).
