While the southern portion of the campus was recently rebuilt for continued hospital use (including a museum), the northern portion has remained largely vacant and includes this iconic landmark building. This field school class was part of a hands-on five-day immersive experience for students entering the historic preservation graduate program at the UO. “We worked in small groups cleaning and repointing a section of the home’s historic flagstone patio and stairs. It was exciting to have so many people with a passion for historic preservation in the same place,” commented Rea. “ We deeply appreciate the craftsmanship that Tim provided, and I know that the students not only had fun but learned an amazing amount.
