Abstract: The work brings the results of the research of Lithosiini (Erebidae, Arctiinae) of central and northern Laos in the Nakai (about 500 m), Bolikhamsai (200 - 300 m) and Huaphanh (1200 - 1900 m) areas. This second part lists 35 species, including 10 new species: Asuridia huaphanha n. sp., tenera n. sp., Miltochrista vidlickai n. sp., Miltochrista khammouanea n. sp., Miltochrista rolleri n. sp., Miltochrista parvulus n. sp., Miltochrista parallelinaformis n. sp., Miltochrista explanata n. sp., Miltochrista flavorosea n. sp., Miltochrista unica n. sp.

Key words: Erebidae, Lithosiini, new species, Laos, taxonomy

INTRODUCTION

Arctiinae from the territory of Laos are little known untill now. The data on individual species are published in the works, e.g. FANG 2000, ČERNÝ & PINRATANA 2009, BUCSEK 2012, 2014, ČERNÝ 2016.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The photos of adults were made with NIKON D700. Genitalia were mounted in microscopic slides using Canada balsam, morphological observations were made using Leica M205C stereomicroscope and photographed with attached Digital Camera Leica DFC295, subsequently were genitalia demounted and applies on label under adults (preserved in glycerine in test tubes). Post- shooting image processing was done using the software Adobe® Photoshop CS5. Holotypes are stored in the Slovak National Museum, Bratislava, paratypes in the collection of Karol Bucsek.

Wingspan. Male 12 mm. Holotype. Antennae filiform, head and thorax are creamy, abdomen is creamy, with a pink tinge on anal margin. Forewing is creamy with a pink tinge and a dark brown drawing. Basal field with one indistinctive dot placed on costa, basal tape with significant curvature runs from costa towards the outer margin. Another, smaller curvature is situated below Discal dot is prominent, it is avoided by postdiscal tape in a sharp curvature, below discal dot, the tape is rolling into right angle to anal margin of forewing. Postdiscal field with a number of dark brown bands which are copying the veining. Hindwing is creamy with a pink tinge, at apex with a faint brown spot. Male genitalia. Uncus is coarse, conical and slightly curved, valvae are strongly extended from the base. Distal costal process is small and pointed, ventral costal process is pronounced, margin of sacculus wears fine pubescence along its entire length. Aedeagus is with a series of small cornuti. Female. Unknown.

Holotype: ♂ LAOS, Huaphanne prov., Mt. Phu Pane, 1200-1900m, Ban Saluei v. env., 3.-13.V. 2019, 20°12´N, 103°59´E, leg. K. Bucsek, SNM with a museum serial number SZ 10 932. Paratypes: 7 ♂♂, 1 ♀ like holotype, CKB. 73 Entomofauna carpathica, 2020, 32(1): 67-94

Wingspan. Male 16 – 18 mm, female 15 mm. Holotype. Male, 18 mm. Antennae filiform, head and thorax are white, tegulae and abdomen are pink. Forewing is white with a black drawing. Costal tape is markedly pink, bordered by basal tape, outer margin is pink up to black dots in submarginal field. Basal field with 3-4 distinct parallel black bands, but these do not touch the arcuate basal tape. Medial line is more or less straight Pronounced discal dot stretches into a tear-like shape, postdiscal zigzag tape is pronounced. Submarginal field with a series of dots that define the pink coloration. Hindwing is pink, apex has a feint black sprinkle. Male genitalia. Uncus is long, slightly broaded below, and pointed at the top, respectively. Valvae - distal saccular process is pronounced, and curved into right angle. Costa is about 1/3 from the base with a significant bending, from which uprises a pointed ventral costal process. Aedeagus is with several fields of small cornuti. Female. Same as the male, but the hindwing is light gray, the pink coloration is only in the submarginal field. Female genitalia. Corpus bursae has a pronounced cornuti in the lower half. Similar species. Miltochrista ziczac (Walker, 1856), Miltochrista wangmimi Volynkin, Dubatolov & Kishida, 2018 – these have a pink coloration on costa interrupted between postdiscal ziczag line and basal line, the pink coloration also continues in the basal part on costa. Reliable determination needs the comparison of genitals.

Holotype. Male, 18 mm. Antennae filiform, head, thorax, and abdomen are light yellow. The forewing is light yellow with a black drawing. Basal field with one subbasal dot that does not touch the base of wing, behind it towards the outer margin there are five uneven bands. The second tape away from costa is triangular in shape and touches antemedial line (almost always). Antemedial line is slightly convex in the lower half. Discal dot is indistinct, touching the bands in submarginal field. Submarginal field with a series of tapes that copy the veins. The hindwing is light yellow (lighter than forewing), with a feint black sprinkle on apex. Male genitalia. Coarse uncus is curved at the base and terminated with a spike. Uncus with a distinctive tip from dorsal side.Valvae expand slightly from the base, costa on valva is slightly elevated in the middle, sacculus with a pubescence. Distal costal process is slender, slightly bent inwards, terminated with a thin spike. Distal saccular process is slender, curved inwards (more than distal costal process), and pointed at the tip. Aedeagus has two large cornuti, one smaller cornut, and a field of small cornuti. Female. The same as the male. Female genitalia. Ductus bursae is markedly sclerotized, funnel-shaped. Corpus bursae is markedly sclerotized, the first half of its lobe bears a field of pronounced cornuti, below with a field of small cornuti. The anterior section of corpus bursae is almost without cornuti. Note. The genitals of males show significant differences between them (uncus, distal costal and distal saccular process). Etymology. APPENDIX Eugoa similis Bucsek, 2016 was described from Indonesia, Sulawesi (BUCSEK 2016). Because of the species Eugoa similis Rothschild, 1913 (on the present it is synonym for the species Eugoa trifascia (Walker, 1862)) was described before, this name should by replaced on another name. We introduce name Eugoa neosimilis Bucsek, nom. nov. as replacement for Eugoa similis Bucsek.
