For services of reconcilliation and adoration Song From Genesis 18: 23-32 Abraham drew near and said: “Will you really sweep away the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there were fifty righteous people in the city; would you really sweep away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people within it? Far be it from you to do such a thing, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike! Far be it from you! Should not the judge of all the world do what is just?” The LORD replied: If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake. Abraham spoke up again: “See how I am presuming to speak to my Lord, though I am only dust and ashes! What if there are five less than fifty righteous people? Will you destroy the whole city because of those five?” I will not destroy it, he answered, if I find forty-five there. But Abraham persisted, saying, “What if only forty are found there?” He replied: I will refrain from doing it for the sake of the forty. Then he said, “Do not let my Lord be angry if I go on. What if only thirty are found there?” He replied: I will refrain from doing it if I can find thirty there. Abraham went on, “Since I have thus presumed to speak to my Lord, what if there are no more than twenty?” I will not destroy it, he answered, for the sake of the twenty. But he persisted: “Please, do not let my Lord be angry if I speak up this last time. What if ten are found there?” For the sake of the ten, he replied, I will not destroy it. From the Diary of St. Faustina In one instant the Lord gave me a knowledge of the sins committed throughout the whole world during these days. I fainted from fright, and even though I know the depth of God’s mercy, I was surprised that God allows humanity to exist. And the Lord gave me to know who it is that upholds the existence of mankind: it is the chosen souls. When the number of the chosen ones is complete, the world will cease to exist. […] When once I asked the Lord Jesus how He could tolerate so many sins and crimes and not punish them, the Lord answered me: “I have eternity for punishing [these], and so I am prolonging the time of mercy for the sake of [sinners]. But woe to them if they do not recognize this time of My visitation. […] I do not want to punish aching mankind, but I desire to heal it, pressing it to My Merciful Heart. I use punishment when they themselves force Me to do so; My hand is reluctant to take hold of the sword of justice. Before the Day of Justice I am sending the Day of Mercy.” (Diary, 926; 1160; 1588) Song From the Diary of St. Sister Faustina I learned in the depths of my soul how horrible sin was, even the smallest sin, and how much it tormented the soul of Jesus. I would rather suffer a thousand hells than commit even the smallest venial sin. […] One day, I saw two roads. One was broad, covered with sand and flowers, full of joy, music and all sorts of pleasures. People walked along it, dancing and enjoying themselves. They reached the end without realizing it. And at the end of the road there was a horrible precipice; that is, the abyss of hell. The souls fell blindly into it; as they walked, so they fell. And their number was so great that it was impossible to count them. And I saw the other road, or rather, a path, for it was narrow and strewn with thorns and rocks; and the people who walked along it had tears in their eyes, and all kinds of suffering befell them. Some fell down upon the rocks, but stood up immediately and went on. At the end of the road there was a magnificent garden filled with all sorts of happiness, and all these souls entered there. At the very first instant they forgot all their sufferings. […] The Lord said to me: “Write this for the benefit of distressed souls; when a soul sees and realizes the gravity of its sins, when the whole abyss of the misery into which it immersed itself is displayed before its eyes, let it not despair, but with trust let it throw itself into the arms of My mercy, as a child into the arms of its beloved mother. These souls have a right of priority to My compassionate Heart, they have first access to My mercy. Tell them that no soul that has called upon My mercy has been disappointed or brought to shame. I delight particularly in a soul which has placed its trust in My goodness. […] Speak to the world about My mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy; let them profit from the Blood and Water which gushed forth for them.” (Diary, 153; 848; 1016; 1541) Prayer Lord Jesus Christ, moaning loudly for this world because its people have grievously sinned, we ask, with trust in Your endless Mercy, for the grace of forgiveness. - For lack of faith, love, and trust in your Mercy, forgive us, O Lord. - For indifferent Christians who do not accept your grace and resist Your will, forgive us, O Lord. - For estrangement, carelessness, and laziness in Your service, forgive us, O Lord. - For neglecting the Holy Mass on Sundays and holy days, forgive us, O Lord. - For disobedience in fasting and excess in eating and drinking, forgive us, O Lord. - For negligence in educating children, forgive us, O Lord. - For the killing of the unborn and disrespect of human life, forgive us, O Lord. - For wastefulness and the lack of modesty, forgive us, O Lord. - For sins of parents and spouses, forgive us, O Lord. - For sins of anger, hate, and envy, forgive us, O Lord. - For the material or spiritual harm we have caused our neighbors, forgive us, O Lord. - For lack of love and dedication, forgive us, O Lord. - For sins of pride, jealousy, and impure glances, forgive us, O Lord. - For disrespect of the clergy and sacred places, forgive us, O Lord. - For the rejection of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, forgive us, O Lord. - For flippancy in celebrating the holy Sacraments, forgive us, O Lord. - For loss of hope in the Divine Mercy, forgive us, O Lord. - For the gratification of instincts and the lack of abstinence, forgive us, O Lord. Prayer Eternal God, in Whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion – inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we may not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen. Song Prepared by: The Shrine of Divine Mercy .
