Fall/Winter 2016 In-Community Events Audiences Unlimited and our arts partners are offering the following events taking place September-December. Tickets are limited to 8 per facility with 1 wheelchair and 2 walkers included. Limited transportation is available; please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to request a van. The following events will be announced at a later time, Community Orchestra & Civic Theatre. October 1@7:30pm Masterworks Rachmaninoff Concerto Embassy Theatre Russian superstar Olga Kern is recognized for her vivid stage presence, passionate musicianship, and extraordinary technique. This striking pianist promises to captivate local audiences in one of Rachmaninoff’s most treasured works. Tchaikovsky’s popular symphony was his favorite: thrilling, bombastic, and ultimately a triumph of the human spirit. October 25@7:30pm Fort Wayne Community Band IPFW Rhinehart Music Center, Auer Hall October 29@7:30 Pops Bugs Bunny at the Symphony Embassy Theatre The Philharmonic gets even more animated when Bugs Bunny takes center stage with iconic scores from your favorite Looney Tunes while the animated shorts appear on the big screen. This brand-new version of the concert features classic favorites like “What's Opera, Doc?” and “The Rabbit of Seville,” plus scores of new additions, including the cutting-edge 3D cartoons “Rabid Rider” and “Coyote Falls.” Join Daffy Duck,Elmer Fudd, and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang for a hilarious night at the Philharmonic. Walton’s romantic concerto is one of the most striking in the repertory with its lyrical melodies, fiery virtuosic passages, and masterful orchestral writing. November 23 @9am-12pm or 1pm-3pm Festival of Gingerbread History Center ***No limit on admission, wheelchairs or walkers for this event November 29 from 9a-1p Festival of Trees Embassy Theatre Admission will also be available to the Botanical Conservatory this day. December 10 & 17@2 Holiday Pops Embassy Theatre Fort Wayne’s favorite holiday tradition is back, and better than ever. Broadway personalities join the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Chorus, and special guests in a program of the traditional and contemporary holiday favorites you know and love. The "Hallelujah" Chorus, a Christmas carol sing-a-long, and dancing Santa’s will sparkle in the majestic Embassy Theatre, decorated in holiday splendor especially for the occasion.
