Our Vision Fulfil our responsibilities as part of SLSA and provide a valued Surf Life Saving service to the community. Our Branch Charter The Branch exists for the benefit of the volunteer Surf Life Saving clubs and their members on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The Branch is run as a co-operative of clubs, it recognises WHAT DOES YOUR the strength of the organisation is built on the club system and will act within the best interests of all clubs, while maintaining the interests of SLSA in the area. Whilst roles, systems and standards are key to making it all happen, the human values of teamwork, passion, commitment and caring layered on top of that core framework is what makes us and what we do very special. 6 EMBRACING THE RED & YELLOW PRESIDENT’S REPORT I would like to also thank our fantastic staff who run the Branch office - Steve McInnes, Jen Huston, Marcial Nunura, Belinda Dobson and John Taylor, thank you so much for all you do. Additionally, I would like to acknowledge the outstanding Branch Executive who provided extraordinary contributions to the successful operations of our Branch. To our Deputy President Shannon Job, Director of Life Saving Glenn Tolan, Director of Education Adrienne Lowe, Director of Member Services Tracey Hare-Boyd, Director of Surf Sports Louis Tassone, and Director of Finance Lance Barnes - thank you so much. Since last year’s report, one of our Clubs has accomplished an outstanding achievement within Surf Life Saving. Avalon Beach SLSC were recognised as Surf Life Saving Australia’s ‘Club of the Year’. To the management team and all the members at Avalon Beach, congratulations. This achievement is sensational. Whist recognising achievements, I would like to briefly acknowledge surf life savers from Sydney Northern Beaches who were recently bestowed Australian Honours. 2019 Australia Day Honours Officer (AO) in the General Division Mrs Romilly Jane Madew, for distinguished service to the construction sector as a change agent and advocate for sustainable building practices.
