Press Release Peter's Yard Debut at Farm Shop & Deli Show To Press Release For immediate release - February 2016 Peter’s Yard debut at Farm Shop & Deli Show to showcase new crispbread bites Stand E184 Peter’s Yard will make their trade show debut at the Farm Shop & Deli Show to showcase their award-winning Swedish style crispbread and new Crispbread Bites. It is fitting that Peter’s Yard now make their inaugural trade show appearance after what has been a very successful year. As well as attaining 3 Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards 2015, the crispbread was also listed as a Great Taste Top 50 Food and named by judges as “the best biscuit for cheese out there”. At the beginning of the year, UK speciality retailers named Peter’s Yard as their Best Biscuit Brand for 2015-16¹. Peter’s Yard will display their authentic Swedish crispbread range that is made in the UK using a traditional Swedish recipe. All Peter’s Yard’s crispbread are made using a classic sourdough recipe that is naturally high in fibre and contains all-natural ingredients. The sourdough starter is over 40 years old and is nurtured like a member of the family. Before baking commences it is allowed to ferment and bubble for 16 hours before being used. At the show, a variety of crispbread and pack sizes will be displayed from the small ‘mini’ crispbread that are ideal for canapés, through to larger ‘single serving size’ to enjoy with cheese and also a larger ‘sharing size’ crispbread. Some crispbreads have a characteristic hole in the centre, reminiscent of traditional life in Sweden where it is customary that large discs of crispbread are baked during the harvest and left to preserve over the long Swedish winters. The discs were made with a central hole so that they could be left on a wooden pole, often above the fireplace. As well as the original recipe crispbread, Peter’s Yard has two flavoured variants: Seeded Wholegrain with whole oat groats, buckwheat, roasted sunflower seeds and linseeds and a Spelt & Fig Crispbread made with Spelt flour and sweet fig pieces. Peter’s Yard recently extended their range and moved into the growing baked snacks category with the launch of three new baked crispbread bites; Sea Salt, Five Seed and Cumin & Nigella Seed. Sea Salt is light and crispy with the addition of Halen Môn Sea Salt. Five Seed has a more rustic texture with the additional healthy mix of pumpkin, sunflower, poppy, linseed and chia seeds. Cumin & Nigella Seed has a crunchy texture derived from linseeds and a warming flavour from the special whole spice mix that includes cumin, nigella, caraway, anise and fennel. The crispbread bites have been developed for various snacking occasions. They are the perfect base for bite-sized canapés with drinks and can be enjoyed on their own as a snack. They really come into their own when served alongside a dip, as their size and texture make them perfect for dipping without the risk of them breaking or being “double- dipped”. Long-time fan of Peter’s Yard, Valentine Warner, has created a different dip for each of the three recipes, Creamed Spinach & Artichoke, Beetroot & Walnut and Creamy Onion. Wendy Wilson Bett, Co-Founder of Peter’s Yard said “We are very excited to be exhibiting at the Farm Shop & Deli Show. This will be the first time that Peter’s Yard has had their own stand at a trade show and we are eager to meet people so they can try our award-winning range. The Farm Shop & Deli Show is a perfect fit for us and we hope to meet with many existing customers and also potential new stores. We are very grateful for the support we have had from the speciality food trade and were delighted to start the year being named as their Best Biscuit Brand!” Ends For further press information, photography and samples please contact: Lesley Parr Splat Marketing & PR [email protected] Mobile: 07754 482139 Notes for Editors: ¹ Source Fine Food Digest / Best Brands Magazine January 2016 About Peter’s Yard www.petersyard.com Peter’s Yard is an award-winning artisan bakery that makes authentic Swedish crispbread. Made using a traditional Swedish recipe with just five all-natural ingredients, the authentic crispbreads are high in fibre, free from anything artificial and use wholewheat flours, fresh milk, honey and naturally fermenting sourdough just as they would have been centuries ago in Sweden. Peter’s Yard offer a variety of crispbread and pack sizes so there is a crispbread to suit every eating occasion. The combination of their light, crisp texture and simple, high quality ingredients make them the perfect partner for any topping but in particular when served with cheese. Peter’s Yard has set out on a mission to become the Swedish bakery company and is stocked in over 1000 independent delicatessens, cheese shops, specialist shops and farm shops and also in larger Waitrose stores and on line. The crispbreads are also served in some of the best restaurants in the UK. About Valentine Warner www.valentinewarner.com Valentine Warner trained as a portrait painter before putting down the brush to pick up the spoon. He worked in London restaurants for five years under such chefs as Alastair Little and Rose Carrarini before setting up a private catering company, Green Pea. A passionate cook, he believes that a real understanding of ingredients, the producers involved and the natural history of ingredients contributes as much to the plate as the cooking itself. A very keen outdoors man, when not in the kitchen, he will be out with a basket or, more probably, fishing. He has made television series for BBC Two, UK TV Good Food, ITV, The Discovery Channel and Fox International. The 10 x 30 television series 'Valentine Warner Eats Scandinavia' aired in September 2013. He is a regular contributor to national newspapers and magazines, as well as broadcasting for BBC radio and writes a regular column for Countryfile and Delicious magazines and has written for The Times, The Independent, Olive, Waitrose Food Illustrated to name a few. Valentine has written four books - What To Eat Next was published on 9th April 2014. OPPORTUNITIES: - Please get in touch if you would like to receive a sample - A photographic library is available .

We merely sought to offer small food producers an accreditation that would help them fight big-budgeted, super-premium brands sold in supermarkets. 23 years later, Great Taste has grown beyond our wildest dreams and is acknowledged as the UK food industry’s most rigorous and authoritative standard for fine food and drink. In fact, the Great Taste brand has gained a worldwide reputation. The unique appeal of the awards lies in its name – a star is granted for nothing other than ‘great taste’. Ten thousand food and drink products were blind tasted last year by leading food experts, chefs and food writers, including many of the industry’s most famous names. Every product awarded a one-star tastes great, without a single marketing gimmick in sight. Two- and three-stars indicate sheer perfection, foods boasting that indefinable ‘wow’ factor. But Great Taste is not just about acknowledging great food. It also feeds back positive help to those producers whose products still have a little way to go before they too, are worthy of an award.
