However, 18 months later, the most successful national road racer of all time, was back on a bike, managing his own road racing team … and building their bikes in his garage. Ryan Farquhar - Back On The Road, on BBC One NI on Tuesday 19 January at 10.45pm, follows Farquhar and his KMR Kawasaki team-mate Jeremy McWilliams throughout the 2015 race season in events everywhere from Australia to Armoy. Jeremy said: "Racers aren't the easiest to get along with, they are alpha males and normally alpha males don't mix with other alpha males, but getting to know him he's good craic and I would regard him as one of my best friends now." As well as racing, the documentary also follows Ryan as he and Jeremy enjoy some off-road activities including clay pigeon shooting, golf and trial bike riding. Ryan said: "Jeremy has been great to work with and you always get 100 per cent whenever he gets onto the bike. “He's been great for me and my sponsors and also a bit of craic. People watching the programme might say we don't get on, but it's all a bit of banter, he enjoys the craic and I enjoy it so that's just the way we are.” AW _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ FRIDAY 22 JANUARY TELEVISION & RADIO HIGHLIGHTS / BBC WEEK 3 _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Bad Language NEW Friday 22 January BBC One Northern Ireland, 10.35pm Do some words fail you? Should a certain phrase be phased out? Join Patrick Kielty to find out, as he returns to our screens with a brand new comedy panel show for BBC One Northern Ireland. Bad Language begins on Friday 22 January at 10.35pm, as Phill Jupitus and Lucy Porter join team captain regulars Paul Sinha and Susan Calman to pick apart our language and how we use it. The six-part series, recorded in front of an audience at the Waterfront Studio in Belfast, sees the panellists competing in three rounds. In the first round Patrick asks each panellist to nominate a word or phrase which in their view is ‘a menace to society’ and should be taken out of use. The second round sees the panellists challenged to guess the words of wisdom from best-selling celebrities, and in the final round Patrick invites them to embrace the language of advertising, using their skills and ingenuity to ‘sell’ an item. On each occasion the audience will decide the winner. Other panellists taking part in the series include Des Clarke, Marcus Brigstocke, Rich Hall, Mark Watson, Jarred Christmas and Micky Bartlett. The series has been made for BBC Northern Ireland by Green Inc Productions. BBC Northern Ireland viewers can also see Patrick Kielty present a documentary from second home in California where he uncovers the truth about a man who lent his name to one of the most famous roads in the world. This man remains largely forgotten in Los Angeles and virtually unknown in Northern Ireland, where he was born. The hour-long programme, Patrick Kielty’s Mulholland Drive, is currently scheduled to be shown on Tuesday 26 January on BBC One Northern Ireland.
