In Oshkosh, Wisconsin, there was a COVID- inspired job fair. It was set up for people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic. But it also had a classic "coronavirus theme." It was a drive through job fair where people could stop at different tents set up in a parking lot. One of the event organizers says this set up gives people an opportunity to visit more booths than they would at a traditional job fair. Watch out for your mask! A teen on TikTok got her ears pierced at Claire’s in the mall. When she got in the car, she realized her face mask was pierced into her ear lobe. Ouch. The girl filmed herself hysterically crying in the car. 2020 just isn’t it. Whether local governments require it or not, the retail giant will make customers wear one. The mandate starts Monday. A lot of people vented frustration with the decision on social media. Some even said they wouldn't shop there again. But a customer in Arkansas supports the decision. Hours after Walmart's announcement, Kohl's and Kroger announced they would also require facemasks at their stores. Masks have created issues for those hard of hearing. Not only can they not read lips, but now even some sign language is getting lost in translation. The Executive Director of the Deaf Action Center says that similar to how people use tone to give off emotion, sign language interpreters give off tone in their facial expressions. But with interpreters signing press conferences with a mask on, it makes that a bit more difficult. Experts say even clear masks aren't a perfect solution. They're costlier, harder to clean, and sometimes get fogged up. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association announced that the Rose Parade will be canceled this year. COVID cases keep rising in California and it's making planning tricky. David Eads (eeds), the man in charge of the operation, says planning takes a year, and already 12 of 22 scheduled bands have pulled out. He also says musicians blowing into instruments and people coming together to put flowers on the floats wouldn't be safe. As of now, the Rose Bowl football game is scheduled to go on as usual. But as major conferences continue to shake up their schedules, some wonder if college football will take place at all. The video is from 2019, but is making the rounds now as a letter was sent to the Virginia Attorney General by the victim's lawyer. The video shows a Black man, Derrick Thompson, being pulled over. Virginia State Trooper Charles Hewitt, unlocks the car door through the window, removes Thompson's seat belt and threatens to beat him up. Eventually Hewitt drags Thompson out of the car resulting in several bruises to the victim. As the officer drags Thompson out of the car, knowing he was being filmed, the cop said, "watch the show folks." The TV star teamed up with Biohaven Pharmaceuticals to promote its new migraine drug. It’s called Nurtec ODT and the ‘Keeping Up’ star says it’s saving her during lockdown. She tells CBS Connect she’s been having more migraines because of the pandemic-induced stress . But thanks to her new influencer gig, she’s in good hands. Rumor has it the show is shooting in Palm Springs at a massive resort. Everyone will have to quarantine at the 45-acre desert oasis before shooting begins. Chris Harrison tells Entertainment Tonight he doesn’t want people to be reminded of the virus while watching the show. The resort has 41 pools and is currently booked through September 3rd. Based on Clare’s Instagram, fans think she’s already there. OUTCUE: into this. The trailer, which has our Muppet friends communicating via Zoom, shows Kermit the Frog leading a meeting. But his voice sounds just a bit different. Steve Whitmire did the voice of the green amphibian since 1990 up until 2016 when he retired. Matt Vogel took over in 2017. But Kermit hasn't been in the public spotlight much since that time. Now that he's back, people think Kermit sounds nothing like he used to. Some users on Twitter vented their anger with the new voice. But they'll just have to accept it as another thing that's part of our "new normal." Nick Cannon Apologizes And Removes Video Of Controversial Episode AUDIO: Nick Cannon SOCIAL MEDIA: Photo LENGTH: 00:00:23 LEAD: Nick Cannon is on the apology tour. A day after being fired by ViacomCBS for comments considered to be anti-semitic on his YouTube show, the TV host is trying to make amends. In a statement, Cannon said, "I extend my deepest apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers for the hurtful and divisive words that came out of my mouth during my interview with Richard Griffin." He went on to say that he, "feels ashamed of the uninformed and naive place that these words came from." He also said he took down the video of the interview.
