Masks have created issues for those hard of hearing. Not only can they not read lips, but now even some sign language is getting lost in translation. The Executive Director of the Deaf Action Center says that similar to how people use tone to give off emotion, sign language interpreters give off tone in their facial expressions. But with interpreters signing press conferences with a mask on, it makes that a bit more difficult. Experts say even clear masks aren't a perfect solution. The video is from 2019, but is making the rounds now as a letter was sent to the Virginia Attorney General by the victim's lawyer. The video shows a Black man, Derrick Thompson, being pulled over. Virginia State Trooper Charles Hewitt, unlocks the car door through the window, removes Thompson's seat belt and threatens to beat him up. Eventually Hewitt drags Thompson out of the car resulting in several bruises to the victim. As the officer drags Thompson out of the car, knowing he was being filmed, the cop said, "watch the show folks." OUTCUE: one more chance
