Results of Ph.D. Admission IIT(ISM) Dhanbad INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (INDIAN SCHOOL OF MINES) DHANBAD Ph.D. Admission 2021-22 Date: 20.07.2021 Merit List of Ph.D. Admission 2021-2022 1. The Merit List of the candidates who have been provisionally selected for the Ph.D. admission for the session 2021-22 at IIT(ISM), Dhanbad is given below. 2. The Merit listed candidates are requested to confirm the acceptance of the offer by paying the registration fee of Rs. 35,000/- (Rs. 29,000/- for SC/ST/PD candidates) through the online payment portal available in the institute website on or before 28.07.2021. The payment details should be intimated via email to: [email protected] in order to initiate the admission process smoothly. 3. The candidates who fail to pay the registration fee by 28.07.2021 will not be eligible for Ph.D. admission. Any communication/request/recommendations, whatsoever in this regard, will not be entertained beyond the given deadline (28.07.2021). 4. The Institute will not be responsible for any unforeseen events, like, non-availability of internet connection, problems with the payment portal, natural calamity, etc. for the failure in payment of registration fee by 28.07.2021 5. The candidates who have accepted the offer will be intimated with the details of admission procedure which include the date of admission, physical document verification process, physical reporting time, venue, etc. 6. The selection for the Ph.D admission is purely provisional. Hence, the confirmation of Ph.D. admission will be done only after the physical verification of documents in IIT(ISM) campus. 7. The candidates who have taken the provisional admission are allowed to appear in the online classes of the Ph.D. course work prescribed for the first semester which will commence from 16.08.2021. 8. Candidates working in Govt./Pvt. Organizations must submit the NOC / acceptance of resignation letter from their employer for the Ph.D. admission by 16.08.2021. Candidates taking admission are required to abide by the rules and regulations laid down in the Ph.D. rules of IIT(ISM) (given in website: http://iitism.ac.in). It may please be noted that wrong information or insufficient supporting documents may lead to the cancellation of candidature and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Publication of results, appearance of name in the merit list or payment of registration fee does not confer any right to the candidate for Ph.D. admission. Final admission is subject to the PHYSICAL verification of certificates/documents/medical requirements to the programme etc. IIT(ISM) Dhanbad reserves the right to rectify any inadvertent errors/mistakes at any stage of Ph.D. admission process.     Tourist Places in and around Dhanbad Dhanbad the coal capital of India lies at the western part of Eastern Indian Shield, the Dhanbad district is ornamented by several tourist spots, namely Parasnath Hill, Parasnath Temple, Topchanchi, famous Jharia coalfields, to mention a few. Other important places are Bodh Gaya, Maithon Dam, and this town is only at 260 km distance by rail route from Kolkata. Bodh Gaya Lying at 220 km distance from Dhanbad. Bodh Gaya is the place where Gautam Buddha attained unsurpassed, supreme Enlightenment. It is a place which should be visited or seen by a person of devotion and which would cause awareness and apprehension of the nature of impermanence. About 250 years after the Enlightenment, the Buddhist Emperor, Ashoka visited the site of pilgrimage and established the Mahabodhi temple. Parasnath Temple The Parasnath Temple is considered to be one of the most important and sanctified holy places of the Jains. According to Jain tradition, no less than 23 out of 24 Tirthankaras (including Parsvanatha) are believed to have attained salvation here. Baidyanath Temple Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple, also known as Baba dham and Baidyanath dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in Deoghar at a distance of 134 km from Dhanbad. It is a temple complex consisting of the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, where the Jyotirlinga is installed, and 21 other temples. Maithon Dam Maithon is 52 km from Dhanbad. This is the biggest reservoir in the Damodar Valley. This dam, designed for flood control, has been built on Barakar river.
