A four-year letterwinner for the Jackrabbits, Sargent graduated from SDSU in 2011 with a degree in psychology and then signed with USC Heidelberg, where he played in 58 games over two seasons, averaging 12.6 points and 1.6 assists in 28.6 minutes per game. He also led the team in 3-point shooting in both years on the team, going 60 for 154, 39 percent, as a rookie in 2011-12, and then 89 for 198, 44.9 percent, in 2013-13.
