Cleveland Free Times Music Awards Multiple winner for: Beginning in 1989, with Joe’s college years and hundred’s of solo acoustic gigs behind him Best R&B Act - JB got the itch to start a band. He named them The Swing Lizards, because of JB’s a nity Best Blues Band for swing (Joe’s Grandfather - Joe Kayser, was a big band leader in Chicago and gave a young Best Swing Band Finalist for Best Vocalist Gene Krupa his fi rst legitimate gig) and based in Cleveland - the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame city - The Lizard’s current sound is a eclectic hybrid of swing, jump blues, soul and funk. Best of The North Coast Best Swing Band Over the years, JB & The Swing Lizards earned the reputation of being one of the North Live Appearances Coasts most visible, high profi le bands. The Lizards have won various awards o ered musicians on the North Coast - including Best Rock and Roll Hall of Fame of Northeast Ohio awards and numerous Scene Magazine and Free Times music awards. They American Music Masters Series Tribute to Louis Jordan were selected from nearly one thousand bands to be represented on the WMMS Northcoast Performance at the Rock Hall & Live on Fox Buzzard Tracks CD’s (Vols. 1 and 2), and were National fi nalists inMusician Magazine’s and Guitar Player Magazine’s “Best Unsigned Band Competitions”. Broadcast live from WNCX Studios the studios of WNCX and featured in their series of live simulcast shows broadcasted from the Broadcast/Live Simulcast historic Cleveland Agora. The Lizards were also selected by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for live broadcast from WNCX studios a special live television performance on FOX as well as a performance in the Rock Hall as part & Cleveland Agora of the American Music Masters series tribute to Louis Jordan.
