Parking Controls.

Pavement parking continues to cause issues especially for large vehicles and pedestrians. It is to be noted that the present Transport Bill includes proposals on pavement parking which may resolve some of the issues. GCC also continue to introduce further parking controls within the Glasgow City boundary and recently a controlled parking zone area for the Hyndland, Hughenden and Dowanhill became live. GCC is now presently working on a prioritisation plan to further expand controlled parking areas, and after a desktop study, potential schemes have been placed in a ranking priority. This includes areas throughout the City and identifies some areas close to and bordering Claythorn being Thornwood & Broomhill (2); Kirklee (2); Gartnavel Area (north of Great Western Road) (3) and area (4) being ranked as detailed in the brackets. CCC will continue to monitor the effect of parking displacement and take any necessary further action.

Please note that some residents have raised the issue of vehicles being parked on pavements outside garden gates causing obstruction and free movement issues.
