EACS NOW A SHOWBIE LIGHTHOUSE PROGRAM DISTRICT Many EACS teachers consider Showbie the most useful and user-friendly app in the district. East Allen County Schools is now a "Showbie Lighthouse Program" district, where our district is an example district on the Showbie website as a case study for districts successful in their use of Showbie and other technology tools. The EACS Technology Department would like to thank the EACS School Board and Dr. Folks for supporting the Blended Learning Initiative over the last 5 years. We would also like to thank Melissa Fiedler, Melissa Czaja, Sean Miller, Jennifer Sholl, Pat McCann, Bill Diehl, Michael Starewich, and Kurt Dager for their work on Showbie in previous years and their willingness to be interviewed by Showbie. Please read the case study, with interviews from Melissa Czaja, Melissa Fiedler, and Keith Madsen: Showbie Case Study can be viewed on the website. It is truly a great honor to work with the great teachers and administrators of EACS! Teachers: you want to begin utilizing Showbie, please contact your Tech Coach, either Sean Miller or Jennifer Sholl. Keith Madsen, ext. 3125 4. ELEARNING APPROVED EACS was approved on April 19 for eLearning on both inclement weather days and district professional development days. The IDOE has relaxed the rules on the previously-titled "Flex" eLearning days where a district provides Professional Development to staff while students participates in eLearning at home. No plans are yet in place for SY 2017-2018 for "Flex" eLearning, no one can predict the weather, but EACS is approved for eLearning for SY 2017- 2018. Keith Madsen, ext. 3125 5. All pre-event bid(s) must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. our time on 05/03/17 at which time the pre-event bidding will close. Buy-it-Now: These items will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at the Buy-it Now price listed on the following pages. If a Buy-it Now item does not sell for the listed price, it will be added as a regular auction package at the conclusion of the 05/05/17 dinner / auction event as a general auction item. Event (05/05/17) Bids: Bids from individuals who attend the 2017 EACS Educational Foundation fundraiser will be accepted as a silent auction at the event until the auction closes during the 05/05/17 event. Please note, if pre-event bids were received for a package(s), the highest pre-event bid(s) for each package will be listed on the bid sheet of the package at our 05/05 event. Determination of Winning Bid: Near the conclusion of the 05/05 fundraising event, a winner will be determined for each auction package. Because of the new format for our 2017 EACS EF charity auction, there will not be any ties this year on auction items. That is, the winning bidder will be the individual who has the highest bid on the bid sheet. Payment: Bids won at this 05/05/17 fundraiser must be paid by cash, check (made payable to the “East Allen County Schools (EACS) Educational Foundation”) or credit card (at event only). Winning bidders shall pay for item(s) won before leaving the event, unless other arrangements are made with the Foundation’s director. All winning bids must be paid in full prior to receiving/obtaining the item(s) and/or package(s) won by each winning bidder. If the winning bidder has not provided payment in full to the Foundation on or before 2:00 p.m. EST on 05/26/17, then that item / package will be opened to other bidders on the item/package in rank order of the bid amounts placed prior to the close of the auction, when possible. Anyone contacted under this circumstance will have the right to refuse their bid for the item / package and the opportunity to withdraw any / all prior bid(s) since they were not the original high bidder.

Sandra Bullock (“The Proposal”), Tim McGraw (“Friday Night Lights”) and Oscar® winner Kathy Bates (“Misery”) star in Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures’ “The Blind Side,” which depicts the remarkable true story of All-American football star Michael Oher. Teenager Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) is surviving on his own, virtually homeless, when he is spotted on the street by Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock). Learning that the young man is one of her daughter’s classmates, Leigh Anne insists that Michael—wearing shorts and a t-shirt in the dead of winter—come out of the cold. Without a moment’s hesitation, she invites him to stay at the Tuohy home for the night. What starts out as a gesture of kindness turns into something more as Michael becomes part of the Tuohy family despite the differences in their backgrounds. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. And as the family helps Michael fulfill his potential, both on and off the football field, Michael’s presence in the Tuohys’ lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. “The Blind Side” is directed by John Lee Hancock (“The Rookie”), who also wrote the screenplay based on the book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis. Gil Netter, Andrew A. Kosove and Broderick Johnson produced the film with Molly Smith, Erwin Stoff and Timothy M. Bourne serving as executive producers. Contact: Jodi Tinson Carrie McElwee Tim McGraw to Perform at Camp Jeep® 2007 on July 26 McGraw, a Jeep owner himself, will perform at the brand’s annual owner event on July 26 in Charlottesville, Va. Camp Jeep announcement builds on the brand’s sponsorship of “Soul2Soul Tour 2007" April 1, 2007, Auburn Hills, Mich. - On the heels of announcing its sponsorship of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “Soul2Soul Tour 2007,” the Jeep ® brand confirmed today that McGraw will play a special concert at Camp Jeep on July 26 at the Oak Ridge Estate in Nelson County, Va., near Charlottesville. Camp Jeep 2007, the brand’s annual “owner only” three-day mix of off-road driving and other family-friendly outdoor activities, will be held July 26-28. “We always try to bring in phenomenal entertainment for our owners attending Camp Jeep,” said John Plecha, Director – Jeep Brand Marketing and Global Communications. “Tim is one of the hottest stars in country music today with an even hotter new single and album. And the fact that he is a Jeep owner himself makes his involvement in Camp Jeep that much more special for everyone." The Jeep partnership brings the couple’s relationship with the brand full circle. In 1996, as McGraw and Hill tell the story, they borrowed a 1978 Jeep CJ to go for a ride while playing a concert in State College, Pa. It was on that drive that the couple decided to build a life together. Several years later, Hill tracked down that red Jeep and gave it to McGraw as a birthday present.

(MHP-NYSE) By Goldman Sachs (55.22, February 12, 2003) We are INITIATING McGraw-Hill coverage with an In-Line rating (neutral coverage). We like the attractive collection of the company's franchise business, its consistent record of profit growth and its attractive financial characteristics (including strong free cash flow and high return on capital). These positives are largely offset by short-term challenging conditions in an important education publishing division and the prospect of slower growth and potentially negative regulatory changes in the GPC division. With the shares currently trading in the top half of their historical valuation range (measured in terms of P/E relative to the S'P500), we believe that the shares may be limited in the trading range on a short-term basis. Based on historical trading models, we believe that the attractive entry point is in the low range of $50s (market P/E 16x for 2003 earnings per share of $3.17). GPS- SOURCE=BENANO2&UTM_MEDIUM=OVERLAY&UTM_SOURCE=BOUNCE- EXCHANGE&UTM_CAMPAIGN=MESSINA) Felder: 'One of the best days of my life, period' Tony Paul, The Detroit News 1:07 a.m. EDT June 24, 2016 Detroit — On the biggest day of his life, Kay Felder sure didn't seem to be sweating it. Mom, however? She was a nervous wreck. "I'll be happy when it's over," said a smiling Tiffany Williams, dressed to the nines in a black dress and elegant pearls. "I never dreamed of this day." Felder, the Oakland University superstar guard, started his Thursday with breakfast with his godson, lounged around the home with some more of his mammoth family, then did a little wardrobe shopping, all before making his way to Ultra Lounge in downtown, where he celebrated with a guest list that ballooned from 100, to 125, to (Photo: Tony Paul/Detroit News) 150, before it finally was capped at 180. And the crowd, which also included Kay's father, Khalil Felder, coach Greg Kampe, a bundle of Golden Grizzlies teammates, and former assistant coach Saddi Washington, absolutely erupted when Felder was taken in the second round of the NBA draft, 54th overall, by the Atlanta Hawks, who then sold his rights to the reigningchampion Cleveland Cavaliers for $2.4 million. "This is Kay's day," Kampe said. "A dream come true. We all had that dream in life — anybody that ever picked up a basketball." Felder, a standout at Detroit Pershing when Washington, Kampe's longtime, righthand man who's now at Michigan, lured him to play in Rochester, became the second Oakland player ever drafted, after Keith Benson was selected 48th overall by the Atlanta Hawks in 2011.
