We hope you enjoy your stay in our beautiful state, and have a great experience. I would like to thank Marcia Ezell for hosting this, our 25th Anniversary of the IWPA Champi- onships; 25 years (Championships)! Pretty amazing I think. Marcia has done an amazing job of taking this endeavor on, so please stop a minute this weekend and tell her thanks. And don’t you just love the shirt design? – All credit is due to Marcia. It takes an exceptional crew to put one of these on and I want to thank both Bob and Donna Daymude for all their contributions and my wife, who worked closely with Marcia. I would also like to thank everyone who has brought items for the silent auction, for those willing to bid on those items, and all the other little things people have done to make this a success. You know exactly who you are. From cart handlers all the way up, you ARE appreciated! For all those who will be competing, I wish you and your dog(s) the best of luck. For those of you who couldn’t make it out here, you will be missed this year. Who let the dogs out? I think we did. George Aka, your President 4 Welcome IWPA Championship Weight Pullers Welcome to Spokane, Washington for the 25th Anniversary International IWPA Championships 2017. The Ever- green State Challenge. My name is Marcia Ezell and I am your host. All the hard work is done, now the time for fun begins! The members of Region 2 have worked hard all year to make this Championship the best possible. So please join us for some Pacific Northwest hospitality. We have planned the pull site to be the parking lot of Sundance Plaza on Indian Trial Road. The Membership Meeting and dinner will be held off site at the Masonic Lodge and the Awards Banquet and dinner will be off site at the Golden Corral. I made maps for these two places as well as the veterinarians listed for your convenience. Pick one up at the registration table. Don’t forget to pick up your pre-ordered Championship apparel as well. We have a lot of Silent auction items (so please bid) and raffle items for you to purchase tickets for. We also have a few championship apparel items for sale. The proceeds will benefit our charity of choice “Operation Dog Tags”. Joe Scheffer owns and operates this charity. He gets his dogs from rescues or humane societies and trains them to help veterans who have PTSD, injuries or other combat related problems. This is a WIN-WIN situation for both dogs and veterans. I would like to make a special THANK YOU to the following people for their help; Rick Bertholf of Vandervert Development and Hotels for allowing us to use their property for holding our Championships. Please sign the thank you card to him. Bob Daymude for making the Percentage Awards, Championship Podiums and also getting the Cub Scouts to present the flags. Donna Daymude for getting the charity “Operation Dog Tags” lined up, providing the national anthems, working the table and getting her brother to be one of the photographers. George Ferrari for asking his boss Harold Elofson of Great Northern Masonry to supply the block for the pull. Also, for making a brand new small snow sled. Sue Ferrari for the huge portion of items for the Silent Auction, Raffle and Door Prizes. Also for getting 2 young men, Sam and Alex to help handle the carts. Lani Ferrante, Carole Parsons, Trisha Prater and Joey Porter for working the carts, tables or photographing the Championships. Jeanne Arnold (on Saturday) and Angela Scognamiglio (on Sunday) for working the Raffle/Silent auction table. To those who donated items or cash, a THANK YOU as well. Robbie Reed for putting together the Championship Program. And Robbie Reed and Championship Chair Valarie Thawley for helping me keep things on track throughout the season for the newsletters. Rodney and Cheryl Martin for lending us their PA system. Ray Witmer of Outdoor Solutions for delivering snow. But don’t just come for the weight pulls. Spokane is surrounded by 70 lakes, mountains, numerous hiking trails, several parks like Manito and Riverfront Park, plus several shopping malls. The Spokane Tourist Board likes to call our area “Near Nature, Near Perfect”. • Space Requirements for Dogs Housed in Sled Dog Kennels
Revision 4.1 - Adopted 15 June, 2020. 1 Introduction to the 4th Revision The Mush with P.R.I.D.E. Sled Dog Care Guidelines represent a standard of care that is consistent with the 5 Provisions of Animal Welfare paradigm, prevents unnecessary harm and promotes the welfare of the dogs to which they apply. Our recommendations have a general level of acceptance among knowledgeable practitioners and experts in the field. Strong preference is given to peer-reviewed scientific literature. Where scientific evidence is lacking we recommend practices that have robust experiential foundations, are based on logic and reason and are practical in the multiple-dog setting of a sled dog kennel. Since it's foundation in 1991 the role of Mush with P.R.I.D.E. has been defined by our name - to Provide Responsible Information on a Dog's Environment. Experience has shown that the Mush with P.R.I.D.E. Sled Dog Care Guidelines must be updated regularly to keep pace with advances in science and communications as well as the ever-changing social perceptions of the many dog-powered activities that enhance not just our own lives, but the lives of our dogs as well. The current Mush with P.R.I.D.E. Board of Directors strongly feel that it is our job to research and provide responsible information and evidence based recommendations that give mushers and kennel operators a range of options from which to choose. It is the job of the musher or kennel operator to use this information to prevent unnecessary harm and promote the welfare of your own dogs.

TERRY’S COMICS Welcome to Catalog number twenty-one. Thank you to everyone who ordered from one or more of our previous catalogs and especially Gold and Platinum customers. Please be patient when you call if we are not here, we promise to get back to you as soon as possible. Our normal hours are Monday through Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM Pacific Time. You can always send e-mail requests and we will reply as soon as we are able. This catalog has been expanded to include a large DC selection of comics that were purchased with Jamie Graham of Gram Crackers. All comics that are stickered below $10 have been omitted as well as paperbacks, Digests, Posters and Artwork and many Magazines. I also removed the mid-grade/priced issue if there were more than two copies, if you don't see a middle grade of an issue number, just ask for it. They are available on the regular web-site www.terryscomics.com. If you are looking for non-key comics from the 1980's to present, please send us your want list as we have most every issue from the past 35 years in our warehouse. Over the past two years we have finally been able to process the bulk of the very large DC collection known as the Jerome Wenker Collection. He started collecting comic books in 1983 and has assembled one of the most complete collections of DC comics that were known to exist. He had regular ("newsstand" up until the 1990's) issues, direct afterwards, the collection was only 22 short of being complete (with only 84 incomplete.) This collection is a piece of Comic book history.
