Our educational programs support the current Science Standards and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Programs include developmentally appropriate, accessible, STEM, and conservation education activities. Interactive Programs are 30-45 minutes long unless otherwise noted. Are you ready to wiggle, jiggle, and giggle? Students will explore how different marine creatures travel throughout the ocean using movement through song and dance.

GRADES K-2 HABITAT SWEET HABITAT

What makes a habitat a home? Students will discover the characteristics of a habitat while exploring various marine environments. To finish, students will use what they have learned to create and display their own creature habitat. GRADES 3-5 ONE FISH, TWO FISH-NO FISH? Fishing stocks may be renewable, but they are limited and some populations are currently being over-fished. Students will learn the basics of various sustainable fishing techniques compared to the types which deplete populations and destroy habitats. Students will brainstorm a fishing gear model to create new sustainable fishing technique.

Garbage that does not make it to the dump can be carried down rivers and end up in the ocean. All of this floating debris is turning our ocean into a plastic soup! Through an interactive game, students will learn how plastic and other marine debris negatively effects ocean animals, specifically when feeding their young. GRADES 9-12 CAREERS AT THE Not what but who does it take to run an Aquarium? Explore a variety of intriguing careers found at Ripley’s Aquarium. From aquarists to operations staff, students can search for their niche in this dynamic field! Upgrade for an additional $3.50 per student to add on our Behind the Scenes tour. Make it a mobile class to engage students into the daily working of an aquarium! INVESTIGATIVE DISSECTIONS • SQUID • GRADES • 6-12 • $4 PER STUDENT Dissections are a great way to engage students through discussion and discovery. Students will take an up-close look at the external and internal anatomy of either a shark or a squid to uncover each species unique adaptations. ALL GRADES SHARK SQUAD What adaptations allow to remain apex predators? Students will dive in to discover the advantages of these adaptations, explore the diversity of elasmobranchii, and uncover what challenges they faces in our current ocean state. PENGUIN POSSE Waddle into the world of penguin biology, care, and conservation! In this engaging class we will explore our flightless friends. We will prepare a cafeteria style meal for your group to enjoy away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. Your students will learn about habitats, adaptations and more, while floating on 750,000 gallons of saltwater!

Reservations are required to receive the discounted school rates. The boat holds a maximum of 10 people per tour. Students will learn what it takes to operate an aquarium! They will join one of our educators for a 30-minute tour that includes our animal care, food preparation and life support areas. Students will have the opportunity to meet our animal care staff and have the opportunity to ask questions!

AGES 2 AND UP - $3.50 PER PERSON

Reservations are required to receive the discounted school rates. Why count sheep when you can count sharks? Let all of your aquarium questions be answered and more during the overnight adventure. During your stay, you will experience a dive show, complete a scavenger hunt and participate in a late night activity! Finally, you will set up camp in our Dangerous Reef Shark and drift off to sleep. ALL AGES - $60 PER PERSON

Reservations and a minimum of 10 students required, Non-refundable deposit of $450 re- quired to reserve your evening. Students and teachers will get up close and personal with the stingrays in Friendship Flats during this 20 minutes in water learning experience! AGES 6 AND UP - $30 PER PERSON
