Beleidsvisie In de Kadernota Sociaal Domein 2019 is opgenomen dat wij inzetten op meer nabij, preventief, dorpsgericht en integraal. Daarbij is het belangrijk dat we per dorp/kern een stevig netwerk creëren met onze partners, voldoende algemene voorzieningen organiseren voor dat wat binnen de dorpen speelt en een model ontwikkelen waarmee we ingezette zorg/hulp eenvoudig en snel op en af kunnen schalen. Deze werkwijze is de rode draad van de ondersteuning die wij onze inwoners willen geven die zij nodig hebben, tegen de kosten die we kunnen financieren. De sociale basis bestaat uit wat inwoners zelf kunnen en wat zij samen met en voor elkaar doen. Dit varieert van burenhulp tot allerlei vrijwilligersinitiatieven, zoals hulp bij het invullen van formulieren of kleine klussen in- en rondom het huis. Wanneer we spreken over de inwoner en zijn eigen netwerk, dan is dit in Renkum relatief kansrijk. Veel mensen in onze gemeente bereid zijn iets voor een ander te doen en dat schept kansen. Ook helpt een sterke sociale basis professionals om inwoners goed te verbinden aan netwerken, activiteiten en algemene voorzieningen in de buurt. -

Operation Market Garden WWII
Operation Market Garden WWII Operation Market Garden (17–25 September 1944) was an Allied military operation, fought in the Netherlands and Germany in the Second World War. It was the largest airborne operation up to that time. The operation plan's strategic context required the seizure of bridges across the Maas (Meuse River) and two arms of the Rhine (the Waal and the Lower Rhine) as well as several smaller canals and tributaries. Crossing the Lower Rhine would allow the Allies to outflank the Siegfried Line and encircle the Ruhr, Germany's industrial heartland. It made large-scale use of airborne forces, whose tactical objectives were to secure a series of bridges over the main rivers of the German- occupied Netherlands and allow a rapid advance by armored units into Northern Germany. Initially, the operation was marginally successful and several bridges between Eindhoven and Nijmegen were captured. However, Gen. Horrocks XXX Corps ground force's advance was delayed by the demolition of a bridge over the Wilhelmina Canal, as well as an extremely overstretched supply line, at Son, delaying the capture of the main road bridge over the Meuse until 20 September. At Arnhem, the British 1st Airborne Division encountered far stronger resistance than anticipated. In the ensuing battle, only a small force managed to hold one end of the Arnhem road bridge and after the ground forces failed to relieve them, they were overrun on 21 September. The rest of the division, trapped in a small pocket west of the bridge, had to be evacuated on 25 September. The Allies had failed to cross the Rhine in sufficient force and the river remained a barrier to their advance until the offensives at Remagen, Oppenheim, Rees and Wesel in March 1945. -

The Grote Houtpoort rises majestically in the foreground, dominating the scene with its weathervane reaching to the composition’s edge. The Kalistoren Tower, used for the storage of gunpowder, is in the middle with the Kleine Houtpoort visible in the distance. Built in 1570, the Grote Houtpoort was at the end of the Grote Houtstraat, one of the main roads from the Grote Markt that led outside the city walls. Beyond the gate lay the wooded area, called the Haarlemmerwoud. The temperature is mild, over the arched bridge of the Grote Houtpoort, residents contentedly stroll, conversed or stop to admire the view. Below boatmen propel their craft across glass-like waters with shimmering reflections and floating swans. The sense of well-being pervades this orderly view of the city’s great landmarks that dominate its skyline. -

Widener Collection 1942.9.98 ENTRY In 1906 Abraham Bredius, director of the Mauritshuis in The Hague, traveled to Brussels to examine a collection of drawings owned by the family of Jonkheer Jan de Grez. [1] There he discovered, hanging high on a wall, a small picture that he surmised might be by Vermeer of Delft. Bredius asked for permission to take down the painting, which he exclaimed to be “very beautiful.” He then asked if the painting could be exhibited at the Mauritshuis, which occurred during the summer of 1907. Bredius’ discovery was received with great acclaim. In 1911, after the death of Jonkheer Jan de Grez, the family sold the painting, and it soon entered the distinguished collection of August Janssen in Amsterdam. After this collector’s death in 1918, the painting was acquired by the Amsterdam art dealer Jacques Goudstikker, and then by M. Knoedler & Co., New York, which subsequently sold it to Joseph E. Widener. Our museum is thus still a relative newcomer on the international scene. Nonetheless, in this fairly short period, the Van Gogh Museum has established itself as one of the liveliest institutions of its kind, with a growing reputation for its collections, exhibitions and research programmes. The past year has been marked by particular success: the Van Gogh and Gauguin exhibition attracted record numbers of visitors to its Amsterdam venue. And in this Journal we publish our latest acquisitions, including Manet's The jetty at Boulogne-sur-mer, the first important work by this artist to enter any Dutch public collection. By a happy coincidence, our 30th anniversary coincides with the 150th of the birth of Vincent van Gogh. As we approach this milestone it seemed to us a good moment to reflect on the current state of Van Gogh studies. For this issue of the Journal we asked a number of experts to look back on the most significant developments in Van Gogh research since the last major anniversary in 1990, the centenary of the artist's death. Our authors were asked to filter a mass of published material in differing areas, from exhibition publications to writings about fakes and forgeries. To complement this, we also invited a number of specialists to write a short piece on one picture from our collection, an exercise that is intended to evoke the variety and resourcefulness of current writing on Van Gogh. -

A preparatory study for Anton Mauve's painting De melkbocht (The Milking Yard) of c.1878 in the Groninger Museum in Groningen, the present sheet can also be closely related to a large watercolour of a nearly identical composition, in the same collection. The Amsterdam accountant Jan Frederik Bianchi (1878-1963) assembled a fine and extensive collection of drawings and prints dating from the 16th to the 19th century, as well as books and Japanese prints. Artist description: Anthonij (Anton) Mauve studied in Haarlem with the animal painters Wouter Verschuur and Pieter Frederik van Os, and in the summer of 1858 paid the first of several visits to the artist’s colony at Oosterbeek, in the province of Gelderland. In his early work Mauve concentrated on paintings of cows in a landscape, although he also painted horses and, later, sheep and shepherds, for which he became best known. -

This article demonstrates that loyalty is needed for cooperation between intelligence partners as well as within and between services. Under many circumstances, loyalty plays a larger role in the level of internal and external collaboration than formal work processes along hierarchical lines. These findings are empirically based on the case study of Anglo–Dutch intelligence cooperation during World War II. By demonstrating that ‘loyalty’ critically affects the work of intelligence com- munities, this article contributes to current and future research that integrates history, intelligence studies, and research on emotions.
