Liquidation of the Ufo Investigators
CHAPTER 3 THE SPACE INTELLIGENCES SPEAK - TED OWENS – 1972 Suppose a man came to you and said that an earthquake would strike the California coast in a few days, and the very next day, a big earthquake on the California coast is reported in all the papers. Then the man comes to you again and says that in two weeks time, on Halloween, he will try to cause a UFO to be seen and reported in the newspapers. And sure enough, on Halloween night, a UFO is seen by numerous persons in Camden, N.J., headed for Philadelphia (where the man making these predictions then lived). It is written up in the newspapers, just as the man said it would be. The same man comes to you and says that in the days ahead, an early hurricane will appear off Florida. Five days later, a hurricane (Alma) appears, and hits Florida - the earliest hurricane in history to do so. When Hurricane Inez is born, this man comes to you and tells you that, contrary to what the Weather Bureau says, Inez will turn right at Cuba and go to the US. It does. Then, contrary to what the Weather Bureau says, the man says the hurricane will back up and take the same track Hurricane Betsy took last year, which Inez does. The man comes to you and says that in the near future, President Johnson will have a breakdown in health. Within 120 days, an unexpected public announcement is made that Johnson will need to have surgery. This same fellow then says that an attack on our warships in Vietnam is imminent. -

The Truth that Was Out There: Long John Nebel’s Fight against the Censorship of Flying Saucer Reports, Part I By Raymond Keller, a.k.a. “Cosmic Ray,” the author of the international awards-winning Venus Rising trilogy of books See https://occupyoakland.org/2014/03/battle-democratic-pacifica-kpfa/. “Information is the currency of democracy.” –Thomas Jefferson Throughout the 1950s and into the early 1960s, the American people came to know the truth that was out there, the truth about the extraterrestrial origin of the flying saucers that traversed our skies on a continual basis. They learned about this great truth from the “contactees,” those select individuals privileged enough to encounter and converse with the flying saucer occupants. The platform the contactees enjoyed in broadcasting their message from the extraterrestrials was Long John Nebel’s late night radio talk program, Party Line, initially transmitted to a geographic listening area covering 25 contiguous states over station WOR in New York City, beginning in 1954. Born John Zimmerman in 1911, the controversial late night talk show host did not start his career in radio until he was 43 years old. Up until 1954, he held various jobs in sales; and through his running of a successful auction house in New Jersey came into frequent contact with various East Coast radio station advertising sales representatives from whom he purchased air time for advertisements. 1954 was a crucial year for radio. It was receiving a lot of competition from the new and burgeoning television industry. Hence, network radio executives were looking for a new format that would help distinguish their media from television broadcasting. -

Rezension Über: Owen Davies, a Supernatural War. Magic
Zitierhinweis Miller, Ian: Rezension über: Owen Davies, A Supernatural War. Magic, Divination, and Faith during the First World War, Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2019, in: Reviews in History, 2019, May, DOI: 10.14296/RiH/2014/2318, heruntergeladen über recensio.net First published: https://reviews.history.ac.uk/review/2318 copyright Dieser Beitrag kann vom Nutzer zu eigenen nicht-kommerziellen Zwecken heruntergeladen und/oder ausgedruckt werden. Historically, wars have always witnessed reports of ghostly sightings and visions. However, the First World War is of particular interest as such phenomena occurred in a more modern, secular environment, at a time when science and secularisation had emerged as predominant ways of thinking about the world. In addition, the number of lives being lost due to conflict was unprecedented. However, the work of groups such as the Society for Psychical Research aside, secular scientific thought did not easily accommodate the idea of a world beyond our own populated by the departed. Nor did it entertain amulets, charms, astrology or belief in luck. Science had now relegated these to superstition and folklore. Owen Davies’ A Supernatural War: Magic, Divination and Faith during the First World War provides a compelling overview of (what might be termed) a ‘hidden history’ of the First World War, one that reveals European societies still enthralled by the supernatural even in the context of modern, technologised conflict. A Supernatural War commences with a discussion of how sociologists, psychologists and anthropologists considered the battlefields of French and Belgium to be a unique laboratory for research. -
Three Aboriginal Responses to New Age Religion: a Textual ' Interpretation
Volume 14, Number 1 65 THREE ABORIGINAL RESPONSES TO NEW AGE RELIGION: A TEXTUAL ' INTERPRETATION David Pecotic University of Sydney Contemporary students of indigenous religions begin their inquiries by deconstructing misrepresentations about the people they wish to study empirically. Such scholars simultaneously dismiss the New Age as hegemonic and intrusive or destructive of native traditions. The relationship of indigenous peoples toward the New Age, in this case Australian Aboriginal religionists, is ambiguous by comparison. It is the task of this article to examine the continuum of relationships between New Age religion and Aboriginal religions, and to make clearer some of the reasons for this ambiguity. 1. Methodological considerations The approach taken in this paper to the examination of the possible relationships between Aboriginal religions and New Age religion takes its cue from the importance of New Age texts to past successful research concerning New Age religion (Hanegraaff, 1996; Heelas, 1996). However, the texts chosen are instead sourced in different kinds of indigenous self-understanding about New Age religion: The Rock. Travelling to Uluru (Hill, 1994); Yorro Yorro. Aboriginal Creation and the Renewal ofNature: Rock Paintings and Stories from the Australian Kimberleys (Mowaljarlai & Malnic, 1993); Messengers of the Gods. Tribal Elders Reveal the Ancient Wisdom ofthe Earth (Cowan 1993); 'Australian Aboriginal Tradition' (Mafi-Williams, 1999); Dreamkeepers. A Spirit-Journey intoAborigilialAustralia (Arden, 1994). In all cases, the texts are explicitly dialogical, written as a response to perceived non-indigenous beliefs. Both New Age religion and Aboriginal religions should be treated as ernie designations and for both the etic is ultimately what research should elucidate (Harris, 1979, especially 51-53). -

Preface by: M. Nostradamus to his Prophecies Greetings and happiness to César Nostradamus my son Your late arrival, César Nostredame, my son, has made me spend much time in constant nightly reflection so that I could communicate with you by letter and leave you this reminder, after my death, for the benefit of all men, of which the divine spirit has vouchsafed me to know by means of astronomy. And since it was the Almighty's will that you were not born here in this region [Provence] and I do not want to talk of years to come but of the months during which you will struggle to grasp and understand the work I shall be compelled to leave you after my death: assuming that it will not be possible for me to leave you such [clearer] writing as may be destroyed through the injustice of the age [1555]. The key to the hidden prediction which you will inherit will be locked inside my heart. Also bear in mind that the events here described have not yet come to pass, and that all is ruled and governed by the power of Almighty God, inspiring us not by bacchic frenzy nor by enchantments but by astronomical assurances: predictions have been made through the inspiration of divine will alone and the spirit of prophecy in particular. -
