The players in the band had all met and played together in other groups for a good part of the last decade, and Fever officially formed in 2012. The extremely diverse musical backgrounds of the band allow them to meet practically any challenge presented to them. Each member has spent the majority of their life studying music. Fever represents alumni from the music programs of Berklee College of Music, UMass, Univer- sity of Miami and Westfield State University and have shared the stage with artists such as Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Charles Neville, Yusef Lateef, Johnny Mathis, and have played and recorded with countless other acts across the country. Fever is a dance band out of Western Mass that is well-equipped for any type of event. We have two female lead vocalists, male lead vocalist/guitarist, keyboardist, bassist, drummer, saxophonist, and trombone player (who also plays guitar, keyboard, synth and vocoder). We offer the option to add on instruments, and you can make the band as big as you want. We of- ten add a trumpet player into the mix, or sometimes a second guitarist. With the talent and in- strumentation in this band we are able to cover an incredibly wide range of material and we play many different genres of music. We can tailor our set list to whichever genres you prefer for your event. Our band has lots of experience playing weddings, corporate parties and private events, casinos, Town Of events, colleges and clubs. Our standard package includes classy, high-energy stage lighting, which sets us apart from a lot of area bands. Lighting plays a large role in creating ambiance and enhancing the perform- ance—see our promo video for proof! You can upgrade your lighting package with options that include uplighting, additional stage lighting, dance floor lighting, trussing, and more. The band played all the top artist and more. The sound was amazing and the performance was amazing. The Nashville Jazz Workshop (NJW) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching people’s lives through jazz education and performance. For 20 years the NJW has delivered world class performances and music education to Nashville audiences and jazz fans around the country and the world. 2020 has been a challenging year for cultural institutions everywhere as they seek to fulfill their missions and remain financially viable. Fortunately, the internet has enabled the NJW to continue serving audiences and students – over 20,000 people have subscribed to the NJW’s YouTube channel to view live and archived performances and hundreds have enrolled in virtual classes since social distancing restrictions began in March. Jazzmania is the NJW’s annual jazz party and fundraiser. As a live event it has been “the jazz party of the year” and one of the city’s most engaging and fun charity events. As with other charity events, the event is moving online this year as a virtual event. On October 24, 2020 the Workshop will host Jazzmania as an online jazz party and evening of world class jazz performances. We will share our love of jazz, celebrate the Workshop’s 20th anniversary and ask our devoted fans to open their hearts and wallets to support the Workshop. The streaming event will also be targeted to a global audience, to build awareness of the NJW and engagement with jazz fans around the world. Proceeds from the event will support the NJW’s Music Education, Performance Series and Community Outreach.

    Rachael Price magine touring Europe with an international choir, singing solos in France and Spain—all at age 12! Rachael Price did I just that—with the Voices of Bahá, a Bahá’í choir directed “ by her dad, Tom Price. Today, she’s a much-acclaimed singer “ who tours widely. Rachael grew up in Tennessee, U.S. She recorded her first CD in high school. She worked as a jazz vocalist while attending the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Rachael and GAZER three classmates also started the soulful pop-rock band, Lake Street Dive. Rachael has performed around the world and made several CDs. She says, "My goal is to be playing shows . and to make records as long as I can." She lives in New York City, where she likes to do yoga, dance, and go out to hear live music. STAR Q: What’s your favorite childhood memory? A: Dancing around the kitchen with my sisters or singing in my house with my dad and my sisters. Q: How did you decide you wanted to be a singer? A: I’ve been singing since I was really little . I decided that I was not going to go to a college that offered anything but music classes . It’s all I did. The possibility of it was always a very encouraged thing in my house . I just decided . this is what I want to do, so this is what I should study, all the way. Performers like SummerStage veteran Patti Smith, an icon of the city’s resilient rebelliousness, Brooklyn’s Antibalas, who have married afrobeat with New York City’s Latin soul, and hip hop duo Armand Hammer, two of today’s most important leaders of New York’s rap underground.     WELCOME! Festivarians, music lovers, friends old and new... WELCOME to the 27th version of our annual get-together! This year, we can’t help but look back 50 years to the Summer of Love, the summer of 1967, a year that brought us the Monterey Pop Festival (with such performers as Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin and The Grateful Dead) which became an inspiration and template for future music festivals like the one you find yourself at right now. But the hippies of that era would likely refer to what’s going on in the political climate of these United States now as a “bad trip” with the old adage “the more things change, the more they stay the same” coming back into play. Here we are in 2017 with so many of the rights and freedoms that were fought long and hard for over the past 50 years being challenged, reinterpreted or revoked seemingly at warp speed. It’s high time to embrace the two basic tenets of the counterculture movement. First is PEACE. PEACE for your fellow human, PEACE within and PEACE for our planet. The second tenet brings a song to mind - and while the Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band gets all the attention on its 50th anniversary, it’s the final track on their Magical Mystery Tour album (which came out later the same year) that contains the most apropos song for these times. ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE. LOVE more, fear less. LOVE is always our answer. Come back to LOVE.

This show is presented by Capital BlueCross and supported by the Lois Lehrman Grass Foundation. The title of Lake Street Dive's most recent album, Free Yourself Up, is both an exhortation to listeners and a statement of purpose for the band. The songs have an infectious swagger, even when dealing with awkward breakups or the unsettled state of our world. Free Yourself Up is Lake Street Dive's most confident album yet, seriously soulful and exuberantly rocking. And, in many ways, it is Lake Street Dive's most intimate and collaborative, with the band itself taking over the production reins and working as a tightly knit unit to craft these ten songs. In addition, the quartet drafted touring keyboardist Akie Bermiss to join them in the studio, literally freeing the band up to explore a wider range of instrumental textures, construct more full-bodied arrangements, and build stacks of lively background harmonies.     Suits and Boots: A Guide to Ska Style With New England summer winding down and cooler weather approaching, it’ll be time for all the rude boys to get their suits out of the closet and get set to look sharp at a show. Wait. What’s that you say? Rude boys? No, no. I don’t mind. I always relish the chance to nerd out about ska. In the 1960s, rude boys were either glorified or vilified in the poorer sections of Kingston, Jamaica. They were discontented youth, violent and prone to crime, and many ska and rocksteady artists of the time had songs about them. Tunes such as Dandy Livingstone’s “A Message to You, Rudi,” Alton Ellis’s “Dance Crasher,” and many more featured rude boy culture. Rude boys favored sharp suits, skinny ties and pork pie or Trilby hats. Think Dan Akroyd and John Belushi as The Blues Brothers, and you won’t be far off. In the late ’70s, the style was revived along with ska music by the 2 Tone Label and its associated bands: The Specials, Madness and The Selecter. The 2 Tone logo featured a cartoon drawing of a cool looking dude in a sharp suit and skinny tie nicknamed “Walt Jabsco.” The artist based the drawing off a slick looking Peter Tosh from one of the earlier Wailers records and thus the rude boy was reborn, not as a violent gangster, but as a fashion archetype and a label to describe fans of ska music. This era also saw the birth of the skinhead and the working class style of flight jackets, Fred Perry polo shirts and jeans held up by braces, rolled up to show off a neat pair of Doc Martens boots.
