QUICK FACTS: US CLUB PRE-ACADEMY LEAGUE 2013/14

Texans Soccer Club - : For the 2013/14 season the Texas Pre-Academy League (TPAL) will include U12, U-13 and U-15 age groups. Again, the Texans, SC will offer the highest level of competition in the area for all of its top players. Texas Pre -Academy League Overview:

Nine clubs of the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy will be participating in the Texas Pre-Academy League ages U12, U13 & U15. Winners of each league within the NPL (U13-U15) will qualify for US Club Soccer’s National Premier Leagues Champions Cup in July 2014. The NPL also provides opportunities for players to be scouted by U.S. Soccer national staff.

Competition Structure:  U12 age group will play a 16 game schedule  U13 & U15 age groups in the Texas Pre-Academy League will play 24 games, 3 times against every other club.  Scheduling will be done in conjunction with U.S. Soccer Development Academy games. (Mid September Start)  Age group cut-offs will be as follows:

 U-15: January 1, 1998, U-13: January 1, 2000.  U12: January 1, 2001 Basic Competition Rules:  Players may only play 1 game per day.  At U-15, there will be no re-entry (7 substitutions per game).  At U-13 & U-12, there will be no re-entry per half (7 substitutions per half). Roster Requirements:  Full-time players in the Texas Pre-Academy League must train with the Texas Pre-Academy League team at least 2 times per week.  U13 - U15 Rosters will be limited to 26 players.  Rosters can change daily to allow flexibility and players to play “up.”  Each club may have up to 6 part-time players that do not regularly train with the Texas Pre- Academy League team. Part-time players must be members of the club and can play in six games only. U12 an additional 5 players to their 26 roster, from any Club. QUICK FACTS: US CLUB TEXAS PRE-ACADEMY LEAGUE 2013/14

Where will Pre-Academy teams train: • Burroughs Park, prior to U16 and U18 US Soccer Development Academy teams training.

What coaches will be involved with the Pre-Academy teams: • Carl Fleming, Lee Baker and Johann Arboleda will oversee the coaching of the teams.

Can you play for both Texans regular teams and the Pre-Academy team: • Yes, U12 players will compete in Saturday (EDDOA) competitions. • U13 & U15 Certain players that have made the 26 player pool can be ‘dual’ rostered with STYSA and US Club Soccer.

What’s the difference between SCL / R3 PLW and the Texas Pre-Academy League: • Meaningful games against like minded clubs. All the top players from each club will be playing in this league. It will create a better bridge of development for Texans players to step into its Development Academy U16 and U18 teams.

What’s the travel cost associated with the Pre-Academy League:! • No more than playing in the R3 PLW league. • Based on the USDA schedule Pre-Academy teams will either drive in same day and play when possible or stay 1 night in hotel.

What tournaments would the Pre-Academy team play in: • Pre-Academy teams will continue to look to participate in the better tournaments in the country ie, Disney Showcase and Dallas Cup. • Will also attend Showcases / Friendlies with like minded ‘Academy’ Clubs to play in Pre-Academy Flights.

What makes the Texans different to the other Pre-Academy Club’s in Houston: • The levels of play that we can offer for each age group acquired through previous qualification. • For Example at U15 our goal is to have a team playing at • Texas Pre-Academy League • R3 PLW • EDDOA D1 • Consistent in Club development of players that progress through its ranks.

Note that players can tryout for the Pre-Academy program by attending any of the tryouts at Texans Houston, Texans East, Texans Aggieland, or Texans SC North.
