Synergy Performing Arts Competition Presents: INDUSTRY INTEGRITY The Dance Intensive Sunday, October, 3rd 2021. From LA to New York; Industry Integrity brings together some of todays hottest working dancers and instructors! Our faculty is curated to offer prime knowledge on technique and the industry today. Dancers will train in: Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theater, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Latin Fusion; Ending their day with the opportunity to audition for our Synergy Stars Performing Company / Mentorship. All dancers will be in the running for some fantastic prizes and scholarships at our closing show. Join us for a one day INTENSIVE that will kick start any season with a synergized bang! Faculty credits include: WOD, SYTYCD, Taylor Swift, NEWSIES The Broadway Musical, and much more! Company / Mentorship: Selected dancers will have the opportunity to perform in our closing show as assistants to our faculty, assist at any Synergy masterclass and Grand Finale Open Nationals 2022. Each dancer will then stay connected as part of our mentorship program. Mentorship offers a unique link to our faculty, providing the knowledge, feedback and networking needed to find success in the industry and in their training. MEET THE CAST: Ilan Nunez: ( JAZZ ) At the age of seven, Ilan started training with one of only two dance groups on the island, the “San Pedro Dance Company”, under the direction of the late Rosita Balthazar. Recognizing Ilan’s skill level and potential,” Miss Rosita” instantly took Ilan under her wing and had him train with company members in his age group and older, thus allowing him to quickly mature in performance and technique. Ilan, not quite a teenager, moved with his family to San Antonio, Texas, where he soon after attended the North East School of the Arts as a Musical Theatre Major. Ilan kept busy performing for this prestigious school working in the cities best theater programs and competing as a “Dazzler” with "Earle Cobb Dance Studio”. He was also the youngest cast member ever to dance in San Antonio's Longest running river show, “Fiesta Noche Del Rio”. After high school Ilan Attended Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. Performing work by Doug Bentz , Keisha Llama White and Ron Tusson. Once returning to Texas Ilan danced for: San Antonio Jazz Ensemble and Human Beauty as well as choreo- graphing and dance in the Patsy Torres “Positive Force Tour”. Upon moving to Dallas, Ilan experienced his first of many industrials with Larwell Ent. and the Mary Kay Makeup Company. It was also then when he returned to the world of competitive dance working with some of the cities best teams. Opting for a break from studio life and a new dance experience, Ilan auditioned and was cast with “Norwegian Cruise Line” and became a cast member of the “Spirit” performing on the coast of Europe. It was after his return to the US Ilan chose to move to Hollywood. Since then he has signed with “Movement Talent Agency”. He credits include but are not limited too: “The Greatest Showman“ “Isn’t It Romantic“ “Bathtubs Over Broadway” “Blue Moon Beer” “Cointreau” “The LA Opera” “Smirnoff” “Wish App.” and much more! From “La Isla Bonita” to Los Angeles; Ilan continues to train, teach, perform as well as choreograph all over the US. When he isn’t running his studio , you can find Ilan at LA’s finest yoga studio as a Sculpt, Barre and Hot Power Fusion instruction. He is forever thankful for the endless support and love from his family, partner and community. Melissa Miles: ( LYRICAL ) From past to present, Melissa has been working in the LA commercial dance industry as a dancer and choreographer for many years now. She performed on the AMA’S (Swizz Beatz, Chris Brown, Ludacris), Latin Grammy’s, Armenian Music Awards, Miss USA Pageant, and the Mtv Movie Awards. Artists she has danced for include Post Malone, Little Boots, Lil Mama, Kirk Franklin, TATU, Lil’ Bubba, and Gloria Gaynor. She has also danced on the hit tv shows Penny Dreadful, Perry Mason, 90210 and Carpool Karaoke. Other dance credits include Adidas, PlayStation, Paul Mitchell, Ducati, Dish Network, and Med Assets. She had the privilege early on in her career of touring Europe and the Middle East performing for the U.S.troops which was when she fell in love with international travel. Melissa has choreographed industrials, commercials, music videos and many live stage shows. She has also choreographed for the Clippers Dance team. Melissa is a former performer and choreographer of “All Wheel’s Extreme,” a high energy extreme sports show you may have seen on America’s Got Talent. Melissa is now one of their rehearsal directors. Melissa was lead choreographer at Knott’s Berry Farm for many years where she choreographed The Haunt stage shows “Psycho Circus of Magic and Mayhem” part 1 and 2, “Ed Alonzo’s Funhouse”, “The Hanging” and “Bloomination.” She has also choreographed for Cedar Point, Great America, and Gilroy Gardens. Along with dance and choreography, Melissa has become a sought after jazz and lyrical instructor. In Los Angeles, she has taught at TMilly, Edge Performing Arts Center, Millennium Dance Complex and Debbie Reynolds. Melissa is currently on faculty with Dupree Dance Convention. She was also invited to be the new international instructor at Broadway Dance Center Tokyo. She works frequently as guest teacher and choreographer. Her work has won multiple choreography awards. She has traveled internationally dancing, teaching, and choreographing throughout France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Korea, Mexico and Canada. Most recently, she was chosen as the first technical dance instructor and judge for World of Dance Panama (WOD). Antonio Martinez: ( LATIN FUSION ) Is based out of Hollywood, CA and has worked as a dance and acro|aerial arts teacher-instructor-choreographer through out the US and abroad and currently teaches at Studio Institute Global aka, Studio School Commercial Dance Department in LA. Here Antonio teaches Aerial Arts & Partnering Classes: Acro Duo, Latin Fusion, Salsa, Tango, Cha Cha, and Samba. All of these classes have proven to prepare students for the growing demand of specialty abilities within the commercial dance industry. Antonio is an accomplished professional commercial dancer in LA. He first studied Jazz, Ballet, and Musical Theatre Dance at Oklahoma City University (same as Kristin Chenoweth) where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in a Bachelor of Fine Arts with his Dance Degree and Spanish Language Degree. After touring with West Side Story, Antonio began teaching musical theater jazz classes and workshops for the University Of Central Oklahoma, Everything Goes Dance Studio, & Sage Hill School of the Performing Arts. Antonio then started training aerial arts at Canada’s prestigious Toronto School of Circus Arts. After booking various dance and aerial jobs, Antonio quickly began teaching aerial technique and choreography for Royal Caribbean International Cruise Line and for NCL Entertainment for their full scale production shows. Antonio’s most current acrobatic choreography can be scene in The Masked Singer, America’s Got Talent, The Bellagio’s NYE show with Infiniti Creative starring Bruno Mars & aerial choreographer for Verizon’s “Lo Mejor De Mi Commercial Campaign”. He is the aerial choreographer for Strong Production’s NuSkin & Doterra corporate production shows, and for Eplus Entertainment, and had aerial choreography featured in the opening act for Drake: Live In Concert NYE Show. Antonio’s experience and understanding of dance and acrobatics allows him to share his knowledge with students of all levels. His teaching stye is similar to his choreography… strong, unique, and exciting while always grounded in clean technique and safety. Malachi Simmons: ( HIP HOP ) Is a choreographer, freestyler, teacher and artistic director currently based in Los Angeles, California. He was born and raised on the small island of Bermuda and that background greatly influences who he is as a person as well as a teacher. At the age of 19, Malachi Simmons, moved to England to pursue a career in acting and ended up switching to the dance course at Edge Hill University. Having started with Hip hop, breaking, popping and other urban styles Malachi went on to study styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, capoeira, African and various others during his time at university, in addition to running his own Hip hop classes. Upon graduating in 2014 Malachi went on to become a freelance dance artist for two years in the North West of England working with various dance companies performing and teaching outreach programs to at-risk young adults and also traveling as far as Dubai for performances, workshops and choreography opportunities. After starting his own non-profit !IslandMentality” Malachi gathered funding to move to Los Angeles at the start of 2017.
