‘OCCHIO VITERBESE’ 16.09.2016 Home | Notizie Viterbo | Rubriche | Servizi | Redazione | Viterbo: Le Cirque with the World's Top Performers a Viterbo da 21 al 23 Ottobre Guarda tutti gli articoli di DA NON PERDERE Occhio Viterbese Tweet Mi piace 6 Condividi 16092016 12:09 9038 "Mi piace" Questa mattina, a Palazzo dei Priori, in conferenza stampa è stato presentato “Alis”, lo show de Le Cirque with the World’s Top Performers. That is easy to say and very hard to execute” - Dawn Hudson (cited in Rastello, 2017) - ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS First of all, I would like to thank Santiago Urío for his constant support and guidance, not only throughout the elaboration of this dissertation, but also during the past couple of years. Through his lessons and expertise, I have been able to discover my passion for International Strategy and Business Management, which I hope to develop further during my professional career. In addition, a special thanks to Jesús Méndez for always lending an ear and for encouraging me to strive for excellence and pursue my dreams of working for a major entertainment firm such as Cirque du Soleil. Finally, to my family for their words of encouragement and unconditional support. Thank you for helping me find my way out of the most stressful moments during the year. Abstract With the development of the international business field, the study of location gained importance. It began to distinguish between firms that initiated their internationalisation process to reduce production costs and those that did it in order to access new markets.

No, I became obsessed. From the moment the lights dimmed at the Cirque du Soleil Theater at Downtown Disney West Side I was enchanted like I’d never been before. Before the experience I feared I would find the show tedious and tiresome (as I was not into theatrical arts like my friends were), but from that very first moment I sat there in rapt attention, spellbound by the artistry, the pageantry, and most of all, the acrobatic skill of La Nouba’s performers.

An internal memo obtained to all employees dated February 25, 2004 outlined this change, and more: First, the appointment of Daniel Lamarre as the new President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company, allowing Laliberté to virtually step back from the day-to-day operational responsibilities and focus more on the creative side of projects, which he said was the most dear to him. “This change comes at a time when Cirque is facing new business and organizational realities,” Laliberté said. With many new ventures on the drawing board, Laliberté will be busy. Laliberté will retain the title of Founder, CEO and “Guide”. The new role will be supported by five senior vice-presidents, including two recently created — Senior Vice-President of Shows, and Senior Vice-President of New Ventures). This change also merits a change to Cirque du Soleil’s Executive Board, which shall now consist of seven members — Guy Laliberté, Marc Gagnon, Michael Bolingbroke, Robert Blain, Eric Foumier and a position to be determined. The second profound statement in the memo is an announcement of the upcoming departure of Lyn Heward, President and COO of the Creative Content Division.
