oils and fats SABINA PDO ITALIA Associazione Italiana Consorzi Indicazioni Geografiche The extra virgin olive oil Sabina PDO is obtained from the following olive varieties, either pure or blended, for at least 75%: Carboncella, Leccino, Raja, Frantoio, Olivastrone, Moraiolo, Olivago, Salviana and Rosciola: colour: yellow-green with golden tints; odour: fruity; flavour: fruity, velvety, balanced, aromatic, sweet, bitter and spicy for young oils; PRODUCT harvesting:olive picking and olive oil extraction take place between 1st October and 31st January of each crop year. Olives used for the production of extra virgin olive oil Sabina PDO must be grown and harvested in the Sabine territory according to the product specification. The production area is so delimited: in the province of Rieti, the whole or part of the territory lying within the following municipalities: Cantalupo in Sabina, Casaprota, Casperia, Castelnuovo di Farfa, Collevecchio, Configni, Cottanello, Fara Sabina, Forano, Frasso Sabino, Magliano Sabina, Mompeo, Montasola, Montebuono, Monteleone Sabino, Montenero Sabino, Montopoli in Sabina, Poggio Catino, Poggio Mirteto, Poggio Moiano, Poggio Nativo, Poggio S.Lorenzo, Roccantica, Salisano, Scandriglia, Selci, Stimigliano, Tarano, Toffia, Torricella, Torri in Sabina, Vacone. In the province of Rome, the whole or part of the territory lying within the following municipalities: Guidonia Montecelio, Fonte Nuova, Marcellina, Mentana, Monteflavio, Montelibretti, Monterotondo, Montorio Romano, Moricone, Nerola, Palombara Sabina, Sant'Angelo Romano, San Polo dei Cavalieri, Rome. ITALIA LAZIO PRODUCTION ZONE Roma Roma The logo appearing on the packaging is round and contains a red amphora standing on golden background; outside the circle, the following text is printed in black: “CONSORZIO” on the top, “SABINA DOP” on the bottom. The amphora contains a drawing of three women in traditional dress and the following text in black “ALIUD MELIUS NULLUM ESSE” over the drawing and “OLEUM SABINUM” under the drawing. On each olive oil container is applied MARK a sticker containing a tracking number, crop year, pack size and identification code in order to ensure full traceability.
