The farmstead is situated at the centre of the farm and is accessed via a concrete road from the public highway. The farm once formed part of the Hanbury Hall Estate, now a National Trust property 5 miles away. Owned by the Vernon family, the Estate had extended to some 8,000 acres in the 18th Century. Lower Berrow Farm, formerly known as Armers House, is understood to have been one of their tenanted farms. Lower Berrow Farm is offered for sale as a whole by private treaty. Lower Berrow Farmhouse With the oldest elements dating back to the late 16th Century, Lower Berrow Farmhouse is an attractive four bedroom farmhouse enjoying views over the farm. The part-timbered house is Grade II Listed and built of brick and sandstone with a tiled roof. The farmhouse has a wealth of period features including exposed timbers, inglenook fireplace and original meat hooks. The ground floor comprises the entrance hall, kitchen/breakfast room (with 2-door Aga), dining room (with hatch to cellar), living room (with inglenook fireplace and a wood-burning stove), sitting room, utility room, boot room, store and outside WC. A timber staircase leads to the first floor which has four double bedrooms. One bedroom has an en suite shower room and WC and there is a family bathroom. A further staircase leads to the second floor and four attic rooms. Subject to securing the necessary consents, the house offers scope for modernisation through altering the layout of the ground floor and the creation of further bedrooms on the second floor. The house is surrounded by gardens principally laid to lawn. There is an orchard and vegetable garden to the east of the farmhouse. Immediately to the north of the farmhouse are a number of stores, former piggeries, kennels and a garage. The cottages are accessed via a spur off the main driveway, providing privacy and separation from the farmhouse and farm buildings. The four cottages include: The Swallows: a two storey semi-detached cottage with a kitchen, sitting room and WC on the ground floor and two bedrooms, both with en suite shower room with WC, upstairs; The Owlets: a two storey semi-detached cottage with a kitchen, sitting room and WC on the ground floor and two bedrooms, one with en suite shower room with WC, and a family bathroom upstairs; The Skylarks: a single storey cottage with an open plan kitchen / sitting room, two bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom, and a family shower room with WC; The Partridge: a single storey cottage with an open plan kitchen / sitting room with two bedrooms, one with en suite shower room with WC, and a family bathroom. All of the cottages have a wood-burning stove and under-floor heating, together with sofa- beds or day beds for additional guests. Outside the cottages share communal gardens and an enclosed play area. There is a hot tub in a converted barn with with under-floor heating and French windows overlooking the farm. The cottages are generally let for a minimum of three nights and the current weekly tariffs are summarised in the table below. Cottage Bedrooms / Sleeps 2017 Weekly Tariff The Swallows 2 / sleeps 4-7 £350 to £545 The Owlets 2 / sleeps 5-7 £350 to £545 The Skylarks 2 / sleeps 4-7 £350 to £545 The Partridge 2 / sleeps 4 plus cot £300 to £500 Further information on the cottages can be found on the website www.lowerberrowcottages.co.uk Planning permission was granted on 28th June 2010 under Application 2010/097/FUL for the “conversion of redundant stables and wagon shed to four ‘holiday-let’ dwellings and associated site works”. Since their conversion, occupation rates have been high and the business generates a good annual profit. Detailed accounts are available on request. Threshing Barn The former threshing barn, with distinctive air vented walls, lends itself to other uses such as further holiday cottages or party venue, subject to securing the necessary planning consents. Of brick and tile construction, the building is currently used as the farm office, laundry room, farm workshop and general storage. Above the office and laundry room, there is a loft area. FARM BUILDINGS The farm buildings comprise a range of predominately modern farm buildings including: • Grain store: a 4-bay steel portal frame building with concrete block walls, concrete floor, profile tin clad, fibre cement roof and sliding doors. Currently split into 3-bays by concrete panels. Measures about 18.5m x 25m. • Sheep yard: a 6-bay steel portal frame covered yard with central concrete feed passage, stone floors and fibre cement roof. Church Road, Astwood Bank Redditch, Worcestershire, B96 6EH 01527 892 681 [email protected] An Update on Remote Learning Dear Parents and Carers, So far we have had a trouble-free start to the new academic year, with teachers and children adjusting very well to the ‘new norm’ at school. We are confident that our current provision is one that not only delivers a broad and bal- anced curriculum but keeps everyone safe at the same time. We’re doing everything to limit the chances of spreading illness but we must be ready for any eventuality. Now is the time to be proactive, so over the summer and into the start of this term, the leadership team evaluated our readiness for further remote learning. You might remember that we listened to your views on home learning in a recent survey. We are also grateful to those who made use of our key stage email service, which led to some im- portant feedback about how we might continue to improve our online learning provision. Your comments challenged us to think about what more we can do, and so in collaboration with all teaching staff, we have adapted our approach to remote learning. We feel well-prepared to help pupils learn at home if they need to self-isolate, and to continue education for all pupils in the event of localised school closures. Our aim is to make sure that, if the time comes, we’re providing the right support for you and your child at home. So what’s new? We’ve purchased new learning platforms which will enable us to deliver remote learning in an instant.

Is the methodology for selecting these sites robust and transparent? Has appropriate consideration been given to alternative locations? Have exceptional circumstances been demonstrated to justify the removal of land from the Green Belt? 1. In addition to the previous comments made in the previous Hearing Statements XB1/1a and XB1/1b dated 3 rd December 2014 and 8th June 2015 Bromsgrove District Council (BDC) and Redditch Borough Council (RBC) would like to take the opportunity to re-emphasise and add the following comments. 2. The Councils’ consider that the Foxlydiate and Brockhill East urban extensions represent the most appropriate locations for meeting Redditch’s housing needs within Bromsgrove District. The analysis that informs this view can be found in the Housing Growth Development Study (HGDS) [CDX1.1], and further explanation is found in the more recent Narrative on the Site Selection Process for the Growth Areas at Redditch January 2016 [“The Narrative”] which were completed jointly by BDC and RBC officers.

A non-conformist is someone who could not be counted as part of the Church of England. They are often part of other churches. Examples include Quaker, Methodist and Baptist. Up to 1644 non-conformists were persecuted and are unlikely to have kept written records. Even after 1644 they were often obliged to marry in the Church of England and were often buried in a parish churchyard. These events, however, may remain unregistered. The Marriage Act of 1753 only recognised as legal those marriages taken by Anglican clergy (Quakers and Jews were exempt). Despite these tendencies many non-conformist churches did keep their own registers, often in the possession of individual ministers. There is no requirement to deposit such records with local record offices so coverage can be patchy. Many records are held at The National Archives. Details concerning what Roman Catholic registers are available on microfilm here at The Hive, is available in a separate handlist. What do the records contain? Like Church of England Parish Records non-conformist records contain baptisms, marriages and burials. Sometimes births and deaths are mentioned.
