INTRODUCTION 1.1 This Statement of Case is submitted by Bristol Airport Action Network Coordinating Committee (“BAAN CC” or “BAAN”), which campaigns for the wellbeing of people and planet in opposing the application by Bristol Airport Limited (”the Appellant”) to expand Bristol Airport. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT The Chairman reminded the Panel that the meeting on the 1 December would now be a seminar on the Future of Scrutiny, this would be an ongoing process evaluating and review how the Panel scrutinise in future and to build a better relationship with Cabinet. AIR QUALITY REPORT FROM SOUTHAMPTON AIRPORT - VERBAL REPORT This was deferred to a later meeting. 5. PUBLIC TRANSPORT ANNUAL REPORT INCLUDING DIAL-A-RIDE The Sustainable Transport Manager thanked the operators for attending the meeting. He advised that buses were used by the public three times more than trains but received less funding. Due to the Council’s ‘Future 2 Eastleigh’ project, a review of public transport services supported by the Council had been carried out to ensure good value for its support. -

EASTLEIGH LOCAL AREA COMMITTEE Tuesday 17 June 2008 SOUTHAMPTON AIRPORT – REQUEST TO ALLOW THE OPERATION OF A NIGHT-TIME MAIL FLIGHT Report of the Head of Regeneration and Planning Policy RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that Royal Mail be advised that the Council is not prepared to relax the terms of the Flying Controls Agreement between the Borough Council and the owners of Southampton Airport to accommodate a 5 nights-a-week mail flight during night hours for the period whilst the runway at Bournemouth Airport is relaid. Summary This report discusses a request by Royal Mail seeking the relaxation of the terms of the agreement which restricts the number of aircraft movements during defined night hours at Southampton Airport in order to accommodate a mail flight diverted from Bournemouth Airport during the period until February 2009 while the runway at Bournemouth is relaid. Statutory Powers Town and Country Planning Act. Introduction 1. Royal Mail uses a Boeing 737 aircraft for a mail flight from East Midlands Airport to Bournemouth Airport in the early hours of the morning, 5 days a week (Tuesday to Saturday). Mail flown to East Midlands from Scotland, Northern Ireland, the north east and north west of England that is destined for Southampton, Bournemouth/Poole and Dorset is carried on this flight, timetabled to arrive at Bournemouth at 02.20hrs. 2. From 28 July 2008 until at least early February 2009 the runway at Bournemouth Airport is to be completely relaid in the course of overnight possessions. Royal Mail has been advised that the mail flight will not be able to operate as currently timetabled. -

Name of LEA : Hampshire Department Responsible: Education Hampshire County Council 2017/18 Transport policy statement for students in further education aged 16-19, continuing students and young people aged 19-24 with learning disabilities 1. Commitment Hampshire County Council and its post 16 providers are committed to ensuring transport is available to enable students to access education and training as set out in this policy statement. Support is provided either by the County Council or post 16 providers. This policy statement applies for 2017/18 only and sets out the support available. There is no automatic entitlement to free home to school or college transport once a student is over 16. The authority has considered its resources and the travel to college opportunities for students. Students can attend a college of choice and, if needed apply to their college’s student support for assistance. The cost and mechanical process of transporting young people with special educational needs is greater and more complex. HCC recognises that families may need a transport service to ensure that 16+ SEN students can access a place that is suitable for their needs and so do offer, under discretionary powers, a transport service that requires an annual parental contribution. 2. General transport available There are a number of public transport service providers in Hampshire. Colleges and schools in Hampshire have their own transport arrangements but the situation does vary. Students should check with their establishment about the transport arrangements and ticketing prices that can apply to both bus and train travel.
