Whiskey Cavalier' Spots
Ads, Like Spies, Are Not What They Seem in 'Whiskey Cavalier' Spots 02.25.2019 Are you looking to take your relationship to the next level? How about wedding rings that also serve as tranquilizer darts? Or a honeymoon to a location that could spontaneously blow up on you? All of these notions appear as faux ads that evolve into clever promos in ABC's campaign for new spy-meets-spy series Whiskey Cavalier. The show stars Scott Foley as tough-but-tender FBI agent Will Chase (code name: Whiskey Cavalier) and Lauren Cohan as his new partner, Francesca "Frankie" Trowbridge, who has no interest in hearing his theories about love and life. The campaigns was conceived and shot by advertising agency Deutsch working with ABC Entertainment Marketing. "The chemistry and interplay between Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan in Whiskey Cavalier is reminiscent of some blockbuster shows of the past, such as Moonlighting. The show's creator even describes the series as 'Mission: Impossible smashes into Cheers.' We wanted to leverage the comedic, fun side of this series in a fresh, buzzy way," said Rebecca Daugherty, ABC executive vice president, marketing. Whiskey Cavalier comes from writer/executive producer David Hemingson (Don't Trust the B-- in Apt. 23) and executive producer Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Cougar Town, Spin City) with Warner Bros. Television. Besides Foley (Scandal, The Unit, Felicity) and Cohen (The Walking Dead) The series also stars Ana Ortiz as Susan Sampson, Tyler James Williams as Edgar Standish and Vir Das as Jai Datta. Besides the above spot, ABC and Deutsch created an entire campaign, including the pieces below: Romantic Detonations Dossier Tampon Whiskey Cavalier premieres Wednesday, Feb. -

Evolution of a Mission-Driven Youth Development Agency Making a Difference Good Shepherd Services
Evolution of a Mission-Driven Youth Development Agency Making a Difference Good Shepherd Services Evolution of a Mission-Driven, Youth Development Organization Making a Difference June 2011 Foreword: Michele Cahill Text: Francine Joselowsky and Jean Thomases Good Shepherd’s roots go back to 1857, when three Sisters of the Good Shepherd came to New York City and established the House of the Good Shepherd to address the needs of homeless women and girls. Today, through its diverse programs, the This publication was developed with generous agency continues to help the city’s most vulnerable children and youth take ownership support from Carnegie Foundation of New York of a more promising future. 1 FOREWORD oday’s children and youth face a rapidly changing world where pre- paration for adult lives in which they can make contributions and T experience satisfaction is more challenging than ever before. Good jobs increasingly require more in-depth learning – strong communication and col- laboration skills, the ability to solve complex problems and imagine solutions, and the ability to learn new academic content and apply it in unfamiliar situa- tions. Civic life also has new demands for these skills as each of us must weigh in on complex problems like climate change, energy conservation, immigra- tion policies, and terrorism. And having a positive family life which has always required growing personal maturity now requires individuals to manage rapidly changing cultural and social mores as well. To prepare for these complex career, citizenship and personal challenges, today’s youth not only have to use and integrate traditional basic skills but also master more complex learning. -
Never Change 2.1
Never Change 2.1: A Look at Jay-Z’s Lyrical Evolution kashema h. www.kashema.com Never Change 2.1: A look Jay-Z’s Lyrical Evolution By kashema h. “Intro” Jay-Z’s classic album Reasonable Doubt (1996) turned 20 years old this summer but it has been two years since he has released another album. He released “Spiritual” after the extrajudicial killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Jay is featured on the remix of “All the Way Up” and teamed up with DJ Khaled and Future to create “I Got the Keys.” Back in April, Mr. Carter made a cameo on his wife’s Beyoncé’s visual album, Lemonade as a family man. The last time we saw the lyricist in full rap mode (e.g. album, singles and tour) was for Magna Carta Holy Grail in 2013. The promotional On The Run trailer for the married couple’s tour stars Jay-Z and Beyoncé as bank robbers à la Bonnie and Clyde, and features all kinds of guns, ski masks, shady figures, cop chases and a line-up. In 2014, I started to think about Jay’s past criminal life as a drug dealer, and his references to it on his records. I let the thing between my eyes analyze Jay’s skills, then put it down—type Braille...you feel me? Last month, the rapper narrated the New York Times Op-Ed: “The War on Drugs Is an Epic Fail.” I went back to my study of Jay-Z and his lyrics with a more critical eye. -

Written Public Comment
WRITTEN PUBLIC COMMENT CITY COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 15, 2020 CITY COUNCIL MEETING – DECEMBER 15, 2020 - PUBLIC COMMENTS BY RESIDENTS RON & TARA ALFORD STUDY SESSION ITEM NO. 1 - STVR PROGRAM AD-HOC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS From: Sent: Saturday, December 12, 2020 1:27 PM To: City Clerk Mail Subject: STVR City Council Meeting 12/15/2020 EXTERNAL: This message originated outside of the City of La Quinta. Please use proper judgement and caution when opening attachments, clicking links or responding to requests for information. Mayor Evans and City Council Members, Happy Holidays to all! As La Quinta residents and homeowners, we would like to share our thoughts about the upcoming City Council meeting regarding STVR's. *A decision to place any type of limitations on STVR's would not be fair and equal to existing home owners. 1. 300 ft. (or any number of feet) rule would reward certain homes and devalue others. It would also potentially cause a worse noise and complaint problem by spreading them throughout the city. 2. Capping STVR's in a given neighborhood or area would reward current license holders and disallow others from obtaining a license and devalue those homes as well. 3. The current moratorium is handcuffing home owners who wish to sell or rent as a STVR possibly to make ends meet to stay in their home. If you want to sell and currently have STVR's next to or near your home, you may have trouble finding a buyer. So are you stuck in your home because you can't sell to people who don't like the STVR's and you can't sell to the people who want your home as a STVR? The City is really limiting the potential buyers pool for those wanting to sell.
