PERFORMANCE 20120155 PARTNERS MANUFACTURERS CONTINGENCY PROGRAM Welcome to the Automobile Racing Club of America Founded in 1953 as a Midwest-based stock car racing series, ARCA has grown to represent the most diverse nationally touring stock car series anywhere. ARCA is the second-longest running championship racing series in the country, and remains consistently dedicated to fans, competitors, and sponsors at the highest levels of the sport. Spotter Guide
CHAMPIONSHIP IS ANYONE’S TO WIN: Will Power scored his third win of the 2017 season at Pocono Raceway and has established himself as a contender for the Verizon IndyCar Series championship. The Australian is fifth in points and sits 42 points behind his teammate Josef Newgarden in the standings, but has finished strong over his career. Can he maintain the momentum as the series heads to Gateway Motorsports Park? Chris Jones/INDYCAR PHOTO WHAT TO WATCH FOR THIS WEEKEND: •MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS: The Verizon IndyCar Series returns to Gateway Motorsports Park for the first time in more than a decade for this weekend’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Valvoline. Of the 21 drivers expected to compete, only Helio Castroneves, Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan have raced Indy cars at Gateway in the past. Will experience pay off in the final oval race of the 2017 season? • HOMETOWN HELIO?: Helio Castroneves has fond memories of St. Louis as he raced for St. Louis-based Hogan Racing early in his career and scored a podium for the team at Gateway Motorsports Park in 1999. Castroneves, the last Indy car driver to win at Gateway in 2003, has never finished outside the top 10 at the 1.25-mile oval. Can he use a little bit of St. Louis “home-cooking” to secure his first championship? • FANTASY FOCUS: With so many drivers making their first appearance at Gateway Motorsports Park, it’s hard to overlook Helio Castroneves’ experience this weekend. But if you need a value pick, look at either AJ Foyt Racing’s Conor Daly or Ed Carpenter Racing’s JR Hildebrand. -

As always, our goal is to provide a fun filled weekend of racing for both the fans and competitors alike. Naturally, the fall colors and enthusiastic crowds are not too bad either. For all those who participated in the past, thank you for your patience and support of this unique racing festival. If this is your first time, we hope this event will meet all your expectations and will provide lots of good memories. Have Fun! Make Friends! Race Safe & Be Happy! GENERAL RACE PROCEDURES: 1) Cars will be lined up by qualifying, points or by a draw system. 2) When possible all races will be pre-staged on the backstretch of the quarter mile 3) This Speedway uses a “fail to tail” system on yellow flags, any cars involved (a spin to avoid or stopping is considered involved) will go to the rear of the field. 4) Any car causing two yellow flags in a race will be sent to the pits. 5) All officials’ decisions are final. 6) A car may be entered in only one division per day; only exception is the Double “O”. 7) Any additional cars advancing to any feature from semi is subject to adjusted payout. 8) Pitting: We will try to get all teams in and out as quickly as possible. Please be patient. 9) To maintain any starting position, race teams are required to help dry the track in the event of rain. -

We would like to welcome you and your friends and family to the 51st Anniversary of the Oktoberfest Race Weekend. It is our goal to provide area race fans and racers one of the finest stock car racing events in the upper Midwest to be a part of. We hope that you go home with many memories that you can reflect on for years to come. Oktoberfest started out as a two day race event in the 1970s and 1980’s. In the early 1990’s, it grew to three days and just a few years later became the four day tradition that still exists today. Further, fans are invited to stay with us in the popular camper village for up to a week. This year, starting on Monday October 5th right through Monday, October 12th. Oktoberfest is a racing event and experience that you cannot capture on an electronic device. It is something much more. It IS a real-life experience, one that leaves fans looking forward to the next year. Every year. It’s the chance to see old friends in the campground. Or in the Grandstands. The racing.... yes, it’s exciting. And there’s a LOT of it going on. Are there lots of race cars in different styles, and classes? Sure, there are. But it is the camaraderie of the racing family that makes a big event like Oktoberfest so special. -
