Cuando llega el momento de escribir esta editorial, quien esto escribe, no puede evitar cierto estado de nerviosismo e impaciencia. Tras varios meses de trabajo, tiene ante él la maqueta final y sólo falta añadir este texto para que se considere acabada y pueda ser distribuida. Ante los ojos de quien esto escribe, está el resultado de meses de trabajo y de ilusión que ahora se convierten finalmente en una realidad que estamos deseando compartir con todos ustedes. Al mismo tiempo, sentimos una enorme gratitud hacia todas aquellas personas que de forma tan desinteresada han colaborado para hacer posible que este Cuaderno esté ahora entre sus manos, habiéndole dedicado una parte de su tiempo y esfuerzo a crear cultura BDSM. Y es gracias a ése esfuerzo colectivo y desinteresado que ahora tengo ante mí otro nuevo y sorprendente número de Cuadernos de BDSM, el número 15. Y pese a haber visto y leido infinidad de veces cada una de las imágenes y artículos que lo componen, no es hasta este momento en que se unen que nos damos cuenta del resultado del trabajo realizado... Abriendo este Cuaderno, una muy sugerente imagen llena de simbolismo de la señorita asturianina, realizada por el Sr. Interior, ocupa la portada. Una reflexión en torno a la D/s y la dependencia nos es ofrecida por la señorita kajira de Sr_de_Ayala, tras recordarles la reciente aparición de nuestro segundo especial. Si buscamos información en internet acerca de los cinturones de castidad, encontraremos que prácticamente todos los textos publicados están referidos a la web de jmselva. Y en éste número, disfrutaremos de un magnífico artículo de su autoría acerca del tema. Las geniales BEDESEMENIADAS de los Sres. Spirit & Indocumentao ponen un toque de humor ácido, cargando contra los tópicos que nos rodean. Continúa el Sr. Txiria con su serie de artículos. Para ésta ocasión, analiza y expone los principales grupos de practicantes de BDSM que podemos encontrar. Una extensa entrevista realizada por el Sr. AMOBILBO nos acercará a la figura y la mujer de la Sra. Dómina Zara, y a través de ella, a una parte de la historia del BDSM español. El Sr. SirWilliams se suma a ésta edición mediante un homenaje al Maestro Avanlys, reconocida figura del BDSM Argentino. El Sr. GGG nos traduce un nuevo trabajo del Sr. LQQKOUT, centrado esta vez en las supensiones para el bondage. La Sra. Ama Lena inicia en éste número una serie de artículos, a través de los cuales hará un repaso a los diversos utensilios y materiales que podemos encontrar en las Sex Shops y tiendas relacionadas con el BDSM. Muchas son las personas que llegan cada día hasta él intentando conocer más acerca de sus fantasías y sueños perversos. Y lo hacen con un equipaje más cargado de ellos que de realidades y con muchas preguntas que buscan respuesta. Y es el Sr. WhipMaster quien en este número intentará dar respuesta a algunas de ellas, las más básicas, con su artículo “Diez preguntas sobre el BDSM”. Mientras preparábamos el cierre de esta edición, saltó a la prensa una noticia acerca de una sentencia relacionada con el Sadomasoquismo en España, en la que se absolvía a un hombre de los delitos de malos tratos y violación. Lo curioso de esta sentencia es la visión que da del BDSM, en la que la audiencia parece comprender cual es la naturaleza de nuestras prácticas. Ante la importancia de este hecho, hemos consultado con nuestro experto en leyes, Sr. de Ayala, quien nos ofrece una primera reflexión acerca de la misma. Añadimos también un práctico índice de los Cuadernos publicados hasta éste número, así como de autores. Vuelvo a echar un vistazo a la maqueta y de nuevo me embarga la necesidad de acabar estas líneas para cerrar el número, subirlo al servidor y comenzar su distribución.     AMERICAN INFERNO by PATRICK DENKER (Under the Direction of Reginald McKnight) ABSTRACT American Inferno, a novel, is a loose transposition of Dante‟s Inferno into a contemporary American setting. Its chapters (or “circles”) correspond to Dante‟s nine circles of Hell: 1) Limbo, 2) Lust, 3) Gluttony, 4) Hoarding & Wasting, 5) Wrath, 6) Heresy, 7) Violence, 8) Fraud and 9) Treachery. The novel‟s Prologue — Circle 0 — corresponds to the events that occur, in the Inferno, prior to Dante‟s and Virgil‟s entrance into Hell proper. The novel is a contemporary American moral inquiry, not a medieval Florentine one: thus it is sometimes in harmony with and sometimes a critique of Dante‟s moral system. Also, like the Inferno, it is not an investigation just of its characters‟ personal moral struggles, but also of the historical sins of its nation: for Dante, the nascent Italian state; for us, the United States. Thus the novel follows the life story of its principal character as he progresses from menial to mortal sins while simultaneously considering American history from America‟s early Puritan foundations in the Northeast (Chapters 1-4) through slavery, civil war and manifest destiny (Chapters 5-7) to its ultimate expression in the high-technology West-Coast entertainment industry (Chapters 8-9). It aims to bring this unduly neglected aspect of fetishism to the fore and to stress its relevance for contemporary critical theory. The thesis begins with an introductory chapter that highlights the lack of a satisfactory theory of fetishism and social domination in contemporary critical theory. It also demonstrates how this notion of fetishism has been neglected in contemporary critical theory and in studies of Marxian theory. This frames the ensuing comparative, historical and theoretical study in the substantive chapters of my thesis, which differentiates, reconstructs and critically evaluates how Marx, Lukács, Adorno and Lefebvre utilize the theory of fetishism to articulate their theories of the composition and characteristics of social domination. GRIFFITHS Psychology Department School of Social Sciences Nottingham Trent University Burton Street, Nottingham, NG1 4BU United Kingdom Email: [email protected] Abstract Salirophilia is a paraphilic sexual fetish in which individuals experience sexual arousal from soiling or disheveling the object of their desire. To date, there has been no academic or clinical research into salirophilia, and there are no published peer-reviewed papers – not even a single case study. Therefore, this paper presents the first case study account of a salirophile, a 58-year-old heterosexual male. The areas of interest that were examined included his background relating to childhood experiences of sex, other co- occurring paraphilic interests, and a detailed overview of his engagement in salirophilic acts. It was found that his interest in salirophilic acts dated back to his childhood, and based on the account given, the behavior is most likely explained by classical conditioning. It was also found that there were many other paraphilic behaviors that co-occurred with salirophilia, including sadism, urophilia, coprophilia, and zoophilia. The case study highlights the importance of online methods in the recruitment of individuals and the collection of data with sexually paraphilic behavior for academic study.
