The month of January unfurled the patriotic feeling in one and all. The school was a witness to the myriads of activities that was conducted for the juniors as well as the seniors. Whether it was the students marching hand in hand shouldering the responsibility of the school, the athletes‟ performing their best on the field or Indian folk and tribal dances presented by the students-the activities helped to bring out the uniqueness of each individual .

REPORT ON REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS
The School celebrated its Republic Day…a fusion of sports and culture on Friday 23rd January, 2015. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chief Guests of the day and Dr. G.S. Adhikari, Controller of Examinations, K.R.Mangalam Group of Schools and Mr.Kapoor, Academic Advisor, K.R.Mangalam Group of Schools. Extending a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests, the programme commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag as the marching contingent of the four houses marched to the beats of the drum showcasing the true spirit of leadership. Shri Adhikari and Mr.Kapoor encouraged and exhorted the students to become responsible citizens of tomorrow.
This was followed by a spellbinding yoga performance by the students of classes IV .The Pom Pom drill performed by the students of class V was indeed a thrilling visual treat.
Various track events in senior and junior categories were held wherein athletes of KRM proved their mettle.
The school had also organized an Inter-House Indian Folk and Tribal Dance Competition. Students of classes IV to IX had taken part in the competition . The dances performed were the Kajaria Dance, Fusion of Kerala Dance Forms, Fisherman Dance of Goa, Tusu Dance. folk dance of Kashmir, Bihu Dance, Bhangra and Giddha, folk dance of Maharashtra, Gujrat and Uttar Pradesh and last but not the least the Ghoomar dance of Rajasthan.The students of all the four houses were at their best. They were applauded for their superb performance. The program culminated with vote of thanks and the rendition of the national anthem.
REPORT ON THE CANCER WALK
The Interact Club of K.R.Mangalam World School, participated in the Cancer Awareness Walk organized by the Indian Cancer Society on the 31st of January, 2015 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. A contingent of 37 students was accompanied by three teachers to the venue on the sunny morning. The students were very thrilled to be a part of such a noble cause and extended their complete support by participating whole-heartedly in the campaign.
The Indian Cancer Society was established in 1951 by Dr. D.J. Jussawalla and Mr. Naval Tata as India's first voluntary, non-profit, National Organization for Awareness, Detection, Cure and Survivorship of those affected with this disease. Indian Cancer Society has been doing sterling work in fighting cancer across India. It has been and continues to be the beacon of hope for thousands of underprivileged cancer patients. The extent of help required is phenomenal. Most of the patients come to us from all over the country and can’t afford two meals a day. In such cases undergoing treatment is beyond their capacity.
The students of the school started off early in the morning. Shoubik DasGupta and Sanil Omar performed live and sang heart touching songs for the audience. This was followed by the welcome of the Chief Guest Mr. Robinson, Chief of the Indian Navy and his wife Mrs. Robinson. Anoushka Malhotra of class 9D, in a tetchy gesture made cupcakes for the cancer victims, which she distributed to them. This gesture touched the hearts of all present. She was personally thanked by Mrs. Rupinder Kaur of the Women’s Cell.
This was followed by the flag of the march. Students of various schools shouted slogans and raised banners and posters in support of the cause. The march started from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium up to the Sai temple and back. They were served refreshments after the walk. The students of different schools put up their acts(plays) during the course of the walk at various junctures.
VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
The students of class IX & X indulged in various interesting activities during their VPA/ Work Ex. classes in the month of January 2015. Students were told about the Health and Food and its effect on the body. In the western music session the students practiced their beat sessions and grading was done.In western Dance session, the students practiced their jazz routine on the tunes of Hold On, We‟re Going Home (feat.Majid Jordan).
The students of class VI,VII & VIII prepared nutritious, tangy bhelpuri and yummy Chaat . Students also wrote recipes in their files. In Western Dance session, the students practiced their Hip Hop and Funky style routine which they rehearsed for an event in school . In Indian Music, students revised Songs ´„Aage Badhta Chal….‟, and „Vande Mantaram‟. In the Western Music session the students practiced their beat sessions and grading was done. In Best Out of Waste activity the students prepared Tissue Paper Holder out of card-board using the paper-mache technique. They also painted and decorated the paper holder.
REPORT Of NCC
NCC aims at developing leadership qualities in the youth. It helps in making them worthy citizens of tomorrow. The NCC girls of 4-Delhi Girls Battalion ,of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II visited Dwarka to attend and participate in an NCC cum leadership camp .To add to the moment, the students enthusiastically participated in the training session. The officers in the camp helped the young cadets to learn the nuances of shooting with a rifle . Inspite of being quite a challenging task, the students thoroughly enjoyed the rope climbing activity. They were taught the 3d‟s- dedication, dare and determination. It was indeed a motivating ,fun-filled and a memorable experience for the students.

COMPETITION: PIGGY BANK
Children of Pre School participated in the Piggy Bank Decoration Competition. The children decorated the piggy bank with glitter, mirrors, stickers etc. They exhibited excellent creative skills. They showed a lot of enthusiasm in decorating the piggy bank. It was a pleasure watching them enjoy so much. The children had a great time.
K.R MANGALAM WORLD SCHOOL ASSEMBLY: CLASS I D DATE: JANUARY 22, 2015
The children of class 1-D presented a special assembly on "Snow White and Seven Dwarfs". The students showcased their assembly beautifully and left the audience mesmerized by their confidence, talent and creativity. Our little ones came dressed in vibrant costumes and exhibited their talent. They drove home the pivotal point "Never take eatables from strangers".
VISIT TO THE ZOO DATE: JANUARY 29, 2015
The children of class I embarked on a journey to the zoo on a peppy and excited note. The animals could be easily spotted basking in the winter morning sun. The children had a wonderful time looking at the giraffes, tigers, jaguars, elephants, exotic and migratory birds and much more. The „Joy Ride‟ in the battery operated trolleys brought about squeals of laughter and joy. Children learnt a lot about the animals.
It was a fun filled experience!!
PRE PRIMARY– JANUARY
HINDI RECITATION COMPETITION
Hindi Recitation Competition was organized in all the sections of the Pre-Primary. Children came dressed in colorful costumes exhibiting excitement and confidence. They showcased good oratory skills by reciting poems with actions and facial expressions.
VISIT: ZOOLOGICAL PARK DATE : 28 JAN,2015
An excursion was organized to National Zoological Park on 28 January to show the children the animal world along with their habitat and their young ones. Students were taken in battery operated shuttles to various enclosures of different animals. Children were excited to see the lion, rhinoceros, white tiger etc. They had fun and recited poems in the bus related to the animals. It was a good learning experience for all.
K.R.MANGALAM WORLD SCHOOL, GK II PRE SCHOOL - CLASS I “Winning is not everything but making the effort to win is.”
At K.R. Mangalam, we recognize the fact that it is pivotal to make learning a fun filled and holistic experience for our little ones. A “SPORTS FIESTA” was organized on Wednesday, 28 January and Thursday, 29 January 2015 for our students of classes Pre School, Pre Primary and Class I. A plethora of fulfilled activities and races were conducted during school hours. Children of Pre School, Pre Primary & Class I participated with great enthusiasm, exuberance and energy in their respective events. Children of Class I participated in the „winter fun flat race‟ wherein children had to run to a designated point to wear gloves, a muffler &a cap and thereafter race towards the finishing line. Our tender ones from Pre Primary participated in the „code red flat race‟ wherein children had to run to a designated point to collect only red crayons from an assortment of crayons kept in a bowl and thereafter race towards the finishing line and our Pre School little ones participated in the „back to the school flat race‟ wherein children had to run to different designated points; to pick up their tiffin , put it inside the school bag & hang their water bottles around their necks and thereafter race towards the finishing line.
The races were conducted for boys and girls separately. Each class had six winners- 3 boys and 3 girls. Amongst a lot of cheering, clapping and appreciation by their peer groups and teachers, the winners were awarded a chocolate each.
Our little ones learnt different traits like teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship etc. with this event. It was a fun filled experience as the children really enjoyed the Sports day!

Month: JANUARY 31st, 2014 In K.R. Mangalam World School, activities form an integral part of the curriculum. On every Friday students of classes II – V are involved in various clubs like Non fire cooking, Cursive Writing, Origami ,Mask Making ,Painting, Theatre, Art and Craft, Astronomy, Computer Club, Needle Work, English Oratory, Debates etc. A glimpse of the activities conducted ENGLISH ORATORY CLUB:
Advertisement is one of the important mediums to create awareness amongst the people. It not only refers to well presented content but also demands for a creative expression. Thus to give platform to the talented students of class 4 and 5, an activity was conducted named 'Get Lured'. The students participated with zeal and zest and the emphasis was laid on clarity, creativity, appeal and simplicity.
HEALTH & WELLNESS CLUB:
The topic of the activity for today was: “Importance and benefits of being healthy in our lives”.
Activity started with quick recap of the topics discussed.
Team Based Activity was conducted on “What we know about Health”. The class was divided into groups and made to discuss about wealth. Time allotted was 20 minutes to each team followed by discussion and winning team‟s name was announced with pride.
The students were also shown a presentation on „Top ten healthy habits‟.
QUIZ CLUB:
Quiz was held on the topic „Republic Day‟. Students were shown the video of the first Republic Day held in 1950. Students were shown pictures and voices of Dr Rajendra Prasad, our first President and Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, our first Prime minister. Students were asked questions on the following: 1. Our constitution 2. Dr B R Ambedkar 3. US President Mr Barack Obama 4. The various events held on Republic Day. 5. When was our constitution written. 6. People responsible for the constitution. Students could answer maximum number of questions. They were made to hear the voices of some of our leaders present during the event. The class was provided with information and valuable knowledge on the topic. The class showed great level of interest on the topic.
