FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high Where the world has not been broken up into fragments Where words come out from the depth of truth How true! We live in such a country which has seen through very difficult times and which believes that coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress and working together is success. It is a legacy that India, a land with its radiance in diversity and variety, is a force to reckon with as a nation . It has enriched us in innumerable ways thereby shaping and moulding each individual. A world in miniature where students receive training for life, learn the cues and create their ideal selves. This is what K.R. Mangalam World school stands for as the torch bearers of tomorrow has the true essence of being together, learning together and working together in harmony. We are committed in introducing the learners to our rich heritage and foster its appreciation and propagation Our strong Co-Scholastic base makes this very apparent and nurtures our culture and customs through diverse activities, assemblies and events. The events held in the month of January was our reaffirmation of the unifying power of sports and culture Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence. True happiness comes from the joy of deeds well done, the zest of creating things new. Student centered education, stimulating and multicultural environment paves the way for opportunities for the fullest possible development. We at KRM believe that true happiness comes from the joy of deeds well done. The month of January unfurled the patriotic feeling in one and all. The school was a witness to the myriads of activities that was conducted for the juniors as well as the seniors. Whether it was the students marching hand in hand shouldering the responsibility of the school, the athletes‟ performing their best on the field or Indian folk and tribal dances presented by the students-the activities helped to bring out the uniqueness of each individual . The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chief Guests of the day and Dr. G.S. Adhikari, Controller of Examinations, K.R.Mangalam Group of Schools and Mr.Kapoor, Academic Advisor, K.R.Mangalam Group of Schools. Extending a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests, the programme commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag as the marching contingent of the four houses marched to the beats of the drum showcasing the true spirit of leadership. Shri Adhikari and Mr.Kapoor encouraged and exhorted the students to become responsible citizens of tomorrow. This was followed by a spellbinding yoga performance by the students of classes IV .The Pom Pom drill performed by the students of class V was indeed a thrilling visual treat. Various track events in senior and junior categories were held wherein athletes of KRM proved their mettle. The school had also organized an Inter-House Indian Folk and Tribal Dance Competition. Students of classes IV to IX had taken part in the competition . The dances performed were the Kajaria Dance, Fusion of Kerala Dance Forms, Fisherman Dance of Goa, Tusu Dance. folk dance of Kashmir, Bihu Dance, Bhangra and Giddha, folk dance of Maharashtra, Gujrat and Uttar Pradesh and last but not the least the Ghoomar dance of Rajasthan.The students of all the four houses were at their best. They were applauded for their superb performance. The program culminated with vote of thanks and the rendition of the national anthem. REPORT ON THE CANCER WALK The Interact Club of K.R.Mangalam World School, participated in the Cancer Awareness Walk organized by the Indian Cancer Society on the 31st of January, 2015 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. A contingent of 37 students was accompanied by three teachers to the venue on the sunny morning. The students were very thrilled to be a part of such a noble cause and extended their complete support by participating whole-heartedly in the campaign. The Indian Cancer Society was established in 1951 by Dr. D.J. Jussawalla and Mr. Naval Tata as India's first voluntary, non-profit, National Organization for Awareness, Detection, Cure and Survivorship of those affected with this disease. Indian Cancer Society has been doing sterling work in fighting cancer across India. It has been and continues to be the beacon of hope for thousands of underprivileged cancer patients. The extent of help required is phenomenal. Most of the patients come to us from all over the country and can’t afford two meals a day. In such cases undergoing treatment is beyond their capacity. The students of the school started off early in the morning. Shoubik DasGupta and Sanil Omar performed live and sang heart touching songs for the audience. This was followed by the welcome of the Chief Guest Mr. Robinson, Chief of the Indian Navy and his wife Mrs. Robinson. Anoushka Malhotra of class 9D, in a tetchy gesture made cupcakes for the cancer victims, which she distributed to them. This gesture touched the hearts of all present. She was personally thanked by Mrs. Rupinder Kaur of the Women’s Cell. This was followed by the flag of the march. Students of various schools shouted slogans and raised banners and posters in support of the cause. The march started from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium up to the Sai temple and back. They were served refreshments after the walk. The students of different schools put up their acts(plays) during the course of the walk at various junctures. VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS The students of class IX & X indulged in various interesting activities during their VPA/ Work Ex. classes in the month of January 2015. Students were told about the Health and Food and its effect on the body. In the western music session the students practiced their beat sessions and grading was done.In western Dance session, the students practiced their jazz routine on the tunes of Hold On, We‟re Going Home (feat.Majid Jordan). The students of class VI,VII & VIII prepared nutritious, tangy bhelpuri and yummy Chaat . Students also wrote recipes in their files. In Western Dance session, the students practiced their Hip Hop and Funky style routine which they rehearsed for an event in school . In Indian Music, students revised Songs ´„Aage Badhta Chal….‟, and „Vande Mantaram‟. In the Western Music session the students practiced their beat sessions and grading was done. In Best Out of Waste activity the students prepared Tissue Paper Holder out of card-board using the paper-mache technique. They also painted and decorated the paper holder. REPORT Of NCC NCC aims at developing leadership qualities in the youth. It helps in making them worthy citizens of tomorrow. The NCC girls of 4-Delhi Girls Battalion ,of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II visited Dwarka to attend and participate in an NCC cum leadership camp .To add to the moment, the students enthusiastically participated in the training session. The officers in the camp helped the young cadets to learn the nuances of shooting with a rifle . Inspite of being quite a challenging task, the students thoroughly enjoyed the rope climbing activity. They were taught the 3d‟s- dedication, dare and determination. It was indeed a motivating ,fun-filled and a memorable experience for the students. K.R MANGALAM WORLD SCHOOL, GKII PRE SCHOOL JANUARY COMPETITION: PIGGY BANK Children of Pre School participated in the Piggy Bank Decoration Competition. The children decorated the piggy bank with glitter, mirrors, stickers etc. They exhibited excellent creative skills. They showed a lot of enthusiasm in decorating the piggy bank.
