Jul 11, 2013 12:01 BST Rumours Suggest The Nokia Lumia 1020 Will Actually Be Called The Lumia 909 The Nokia EOS has been a hot topic in recent months. The phone is expected to be one of the most advanced offerings to date from the Finnish manufacturer, and one of the most feature packed cameraphones ever to hit the market, with rumours of 41 megapixel PureView sensor among its key features. It was last week revealed on Twitter that the phone is likely to go by the name of the Lumia 1020 when it hits the market. This information was posted on Twitter by @evleaks, a source which has gained an enviable reputation in recent months after providing all manner of accurate information about unreleased smartphone models. Given the track record of this source, there is every reason to believe that this information is true. More recently though, uSwitch has reported that a number of sources have debated this information, and that the phone will in fact go by a different name. A number of sources have apparently claimed that the phone will actually be called the Nokia Lumia 909. Last year, Nokia released a Symbian device called the PureView 808. This device also utilised a 41 megapixel camera, so by calling the new device the Lumia 909, it would certainly suggest that it follows a similar format. While this information is by no means official, it was also recently revealed that a couple of photos were posted on the Flickr account of a manager of Microsoft's Windows Phone business. The metadata accompanying the photos revealed that the device used to take them was indeed the Nokia Lumia 1020, backing up the claims of @evleaks. While the phone’s 41 megapixel PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics will of course be its standout feature, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is set to include plenty of other impressive features. It has been rumoured that the phone will be the first Lumia device with a quad-core processor, and we also expect the device to run the latest instalment of Windows Phone 8 operating system and incorporate a ClearBlack display. The design of the handset appears to be similar to that of the Nokia Lumia 920, after leaked images of the handset were recently posted online. Luckily, Nokia is set to unveil the Lumia 1020 in just a few days, so there's not much longer to wait to find out everything you want to know about the phone. Of course, we will keep you posted with all the latest details leading up to its announcement, and report back after it has been unveiled.
