Transportation Guide for Central Counting Station 中央點票站交通指南 Transportation Guide for Central Counting Station 11日 月 12 DecemberSeptember 11 4 12日 月 12 December 12 The counting of votes and announcement of election results for the 2016 Election Committee Subsector Elections will be held in the Central Counting Station at Halls 6, 8 and 10 of the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) which can be accessed by the following modes of transportation. 1 By Airport Express 1.1 Airport Express provides a direct and convenient link to and from the AWE with the in-venue AWE Station. Please leave the Station and enter the Central Counting Station through 1/F Central Concourse *. 1.2 Airport Express operates daily with the following route: Hong Kong Station Kowloon Station Tsing Yi Station Airport Station AsiaWorld-Expo Station Estimated Travelling Round-trip Adult Fare From Time to AsiaWorld-Expo (with two-day validity from Station 11 to 12 Dec 2016 +) Hong Kong Station 28 mins HK $57 Kowloon Station 25 mins HK $57 Tsing Yi Station 17 mins HK $42 ++ Airport Station 1 min + Visitors can buy tickets with Octopus Card at the designated counters (located at Lower Level 2 of Hong Kong Station or Kowloon Station – Trains to Airport and AsiaWorld-Expo and Level U4 of Tsing Yi Station – Trains to Airport and AsiaWorld-Expo respectively). Any fare rebate will be automatically credited to the Octopus Card at the return trip exit gate. Passengers can enjoy free MTR connections when using the same Octopus Card (with sufficient value) to interchange within 1 hour of arrival between the Airport Express at Hong Kong, Kowloon or Tsing Yi Station and the interconnecting MTR line. The free connection trip includes travel to Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau stations, but excludes Light Rail, MTR Bus and East Rail Line First Class. When passengers interchange from MTR Line to Airport Express, free connection trip is applicable to the journey with lower fare. When changing between Tsim Sha Tsui/East Tsim Sha Tsui Stations, passenger must do so within 30 minutes of arrival at either station. The savings will vary depending on the fare of the connection journeys. For passengers whose boarding and destination stations are different, the total fare will be calculated as the average of the fares for the two journeys. E2 2.2 Visitors who alight at MTR Tung Chung Station can travel to the AWE by bus X1 (Point-to-Point Express) and S1. For full details of Airport Express and MTR services and fare arrangements, please visit www.mtr.com.hk or call the MTR hotline at 2881 8888. 3 By Bus 3.1 Visitors may choose to go to the AWE directly by buses. Please refer to the ensuing paragraphs for details of bus services. Under the integrated approach adopted for the Study, the transport requirements identified for the Development Options are also assessed in terms of the environmental, economic and financial implications in order that a meaningful comparison of the Development Options could be made. 3. Under the Reference Scenario, various development choices have been considered to satisfy the land requirements. They can broadly be categorised into two different options of development patterns, namely Decentralisation and Consolidation. The details are presented in the paper on Development Options under the Reference Scenario. Assessments have been carried out to identify the transport requirements of the two Development Options in 2010, 2020 and 2030. The findings are summarised in the following sections. Under the Reference Scenario, the population in 2030 could be in the region of 9.2 million which is only marginally more than the population of 8.9 million for 2016 adopted in the previous strategic planning.

    PR031/21 14 May 2021 MTR All Geared up for Typhoon Season and Calls on Passengers to Note Service Adjustments during Typhoons for Journey Planning With the typhoon season approaching, MTR Corporation has implemented a number of precautionary measures to combat the adverse weather including the inspection of flood- prevention equipment, checking the conditions of railway facilities and enhancing the trimming of trees along open sections of railway lines. As MTR services may be affected by adverse weather and may have to be adjusted due to various situations during typhoons, the Corporation will provide the latest train service information through different platforms including the media, social media and MTR Mobile for passengers to plan their journeys. MTR always makes its best endeavours to provide safe service during typhoons as far as practicable under the premise of ensuring the safety of passengers and MTR staff. However, services on the open sections of the heavy rail, Light Rail and MTR Bus will inevitably be affected by adverse weather during typhoons, and therefore the Operations Control Centre will make corresponding service arrangements based on weather conditions (please refer to the annex for details). “Our priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and our staff in the face of adverse weather. Staff will be deployed to assist passengers at stations during typhoons while the maintenance team will stand by along railway lines to carry out emergency repairs on damaged railway facilities as long as it is safe and feasible to do so. After gale signals are lowered, recovery works will commence fully. As the works take time and roads may also be blocked by fallen trees or debris, services on the open sections of the heavy rail, Light Rail and MTR Bus may not be able to resume immediately.

This paper reports the findings of the review and consults Members on the way forward. Background 2. Currently, more than 5 million passenger trips are made on the MTR network every day. With its dedicated rail corridor, as well as the cooperation of passengers, the MTR operates smoothly and effectively as a mass transit system. 3. In addition, a comprehensive legal framework is essential to ensure smooth railway operation. Winter Season (December - March) is the most relaxing and comfortable time to go to Hong Kong but besides the weather, there's little else to do since the "Sale Season" occurs during Summer. There are some sales during Christmas & Chinese New Year but 90% of the clothes are for winter. Hong Kong can get very foggy during winter, as such, visit to the Peak is a hit-or-miss affair. A foggy bird's eye view of HK isn't really nice. Summer Season (May - October) is similar to Manila's weather, very hot but moving around in Hong Kong can get extra uncomfortable because of the high humidity which gives the "sticky" feeling. Hong Kong's rainy season also falls on their summer, July & August has the highest rainfall count and the typhoons also arrive in these months. The Sale / Shopping Festival is from the start of July to the start of September. If the sky is clear, the view from the Peak is great. Avoid going to Hong Kong when there are large-scale exhibitions or ongoing tournaments like the Hong Kong Sevens Rugby Tournament because hotel prices will be significantly higher. PROBLEM We need to construct the remaining section of Route 5 between Shek Wai Kok and Chai Wan Kok to relieve traffic congestion in Tsuen Wan. PROPOSAL 2. The Director of Territory Development (DTD), with the support of the Secretary for Transport, proposes to upgrade 52TH to Category A at an estimated cost of $1,098.5 million in money-of-the-day (MOD) prices for the construction of the remaining section of Route 5 between Shek Wai Kok and Chai Wan Kok in Tsuen Wan.
