II Chronicles 34:30

II Chronicles 34:30

Year 2 Week 100 and God's Lost Book

Scriptures: II Chronicles 34, 35, II Kings 22, 23

Key Verse: II Chronicles 34:30 " The king went up to the house of the LORD, with all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of -- the priests and the Levites, and all the people, great and small. And he read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant which had been found in the house of the LORD."

Key Points:

1. Josiah became king at the age of eight. He followed God and sought to do what was right. In the twelfth year of his reign (at age 20), he began to remove the idols from the land of Judah.

2. In the eighteenth year of his reign, Josiah began the restoration of the temple. During the repairs, the priest found the Book of the Law and sent it to Josiah. After Josiah heard the words of the Law, he was very afraid. He understood how much his fathers sinned against God and the destruction God promised as a consequence. Josiah asks , a prophetess of God, about the promised consequences. She sends word back saying that although God would pour out His wrath, Josiah would not have to live through it because he . humbled himself and was tender hearted towards the truth.

3. Josiah went to the temple and called the people of Judah together and read all of the Book of the Covenant to them. After he finished reading, he made a covenant to follow God and keep his commandments. That year, Josiah kept the Passover according to God's instructions (2Chronicles 35). No Passover had been kept so carefully since Samuel was alive.

4. Josiah was killed in battle. The peeple of Judah mourned for him. During his reign, they had been faithful to God. FOld my arms.

What happened when King Josiah ordered the temple to be cleaned?

Follow the maze of letters. Unburied Treasure!

While clearing out the Temple, they found something very important. To see what they found, black out all the letters in the broken bricks and fallen timbers. Then transfer the letters left in the saws, chisels and ham- mers to the spaces below. .
