Presentation: Primary Health Group Linda Nehra introduced Primary Health Care Services Working Group (PHCSWG) members Emma Isaac, and Marlene Barry. Ms. Nehra provided a powerpoint presentation and addressed the Committee as to the work of the PHCSWG. Ms. Nehra reported that the working group was formed in December 2013, to build on the work of the Mayor's Advisory Panel on Community Health and Social Initiatives and to address specific gaps in the health care system in Sooke and surrounding areas. Ms. Nehra overviewed issues for Sooke such as shortage of family physicians, limited availability of diagnostic services, the need for housing and care for seniors and other gaps in the health care system. Ms. Nehra explained that Mayor and Council have a vital role to play in the creation of health services in the community. The Primary Health Care Services Working Group is recommending that Council appoint a liaison to the Working Group. A discussion ensued between the Committee and Ms.

CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTION OF MINUTES MOVED by Councillor Dumont, seconded that the minutes of the Regular Council meeting held on November 14, 2005 be adopted as circulated. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY MOVED by Councillor Parkinson, seconded that the minutes of the Committee of the th Whole meeting held on December 9 , 2005 be adopted as circulated. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY MOVED by Councillor Beech, seconded that the minutes of the Regular Council meeting held on December 12, 2005 be adopted as circulated and amended on Page 15. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY MOVED by Councillor Beech, seconded that the minutes of the Special Council meeting held on December 19, 2005 be adopted as circulated.
