A view of the past from the pastBy Keith DomsIt is truly a period piece. It is a collection of biographical sketches of Elizabethan personalities that claimed to be magicians, astrologers and alchemists. Davenport holds none in high esteem and is very clear to point out their failures. No real discussion on how these people fit within the period or what they show about the society of their times.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. good readBy Richard LeachI found this quite interesting0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
