Airport Limo taxis (tel. 03-8787 3378) operate a meet-and-greet service 24 hours/day from KL airport. Fares: approximately RM 100. Taxi Taxis are abundant and are a popular way to get around in KL (they operate 24 hours/day). Licensed taxis are safe and air conditioned. Be aware and avoid unlicensed taxis that often hang around the airport, charging a flat rate, and often not insured. Always opt for a licensed taxi. Taxis are required by law to use meters, with fares starting at RM3 for the first kilometer (budget taxis). Note that there are premium taxis (executive taxis, usually blue) with higher fares starting at RM6 for the first kilometer. Uber/Grab Uber and Grab apps are very popular in KL and across Malaysia. It would cost you approximately RM 75-85. The best way to get a taxi is to book it through the Grab app. You can download the app on your phone for free. Grab is the fastest way to book a taxi. An international driver’s license is required except for tourists from the US, EU, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Singapore. Visitors are only allowed half-way up the towers to the double deck viewing platform called the skybridge. Nobu restaurant is located on 56th floor of Petronas Tower 3. KL Tower The tower offers an eye-popping view of the city and it houses a revolving restaurant Observation Deck and a F1 simulator. Sultan Abdul Samad A Mughal-inspired building, housing the government Finance Division and the Building Textile Museum. Istana Negara It was the former residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia and now has been converted into the Royal Museum. China Town Well-known bargain hunter’s paradise, the area has dozens of stalls serving local favourites. Batu Caves A Hindu shrine on a 400-year old limestone hill that has become a very popular pilgrimage site. Central Market One of KL’s most familiar landmarks. A great place to get souvenirs, antiques, and crafts. Jamek Mosque Beautiful domed, colonnaded mosque. Proper attire required when visiting. Pavilion A high end shopping mall situated in the Bukit Bintang district. Contains over 450 Kuala Lump retail shops from luxury goods to electronics and furniture. Suria KLCC mall Located next to the Petronas Twin Towers, Suria KLCC houses world-class retailers and attraction such as Petronas Art Gallery, the Aquaria KLCC, and KLCC park. 7 1.
