Dear Colleague,

Welcome to the 2014 3DEXPERIENCE FORUM. Thank you for making time to join us. We are proud to offer an agenda rich with global thought leaders who will share stories of innovation and best practices for doing business in this new age of experience.

We understand the challenges and opportunities presented as consumers look at the value of their experience vs. the product or service itself. Your customers’ are no longer satisfied with a great product. They demand a unique and highly personal experience that is tailored to their specific business needs. This is profoundly challenging how innovation works. Our goal this week is to give you an unprecedented opportunity to explore this new business model as well as solutions for meeting these expectations.

I personally encourage you to actively participate in the conversation by collaborating with your peers on the shared challenges of competing in this changing marketplace. From plenary to breakout sessions, our speakers represent some of the world’s most innovative companies including AGCO Corporation, Anglo American, Bayer HealthCare, DURA Automotive Systems, General Electric, Georgia Institute of Technology, Honda, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Nissan, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Qualcomm, and Vans.

In addition, Dassault Systèmes experts are on-hand to discuss and demonstrate our new class of solutions available to help your organization harness rapidly changing technology to enable innovation and collaboration across the entire business ecosystem.

And be sure to experience the wide range of solutions and services showcased at our 3DEXPERIENCE Playground, open during all breaks and Tuesday evening’s networking reception.

Whether it is with Dassault Systèmes customers, partners, or employees, we have provided many opportunities to network with other attendees. From evening receptions, to roundtables, to social media outlets – a wide range of opportunities to connect and collaborate are available. I personally hope to leverage them to meet with all of you.

Again, thank you for your participation and support. It is no secret that it is our customers, partners, and employees’ dedication and willingness to learn from each other that makes this event so valuable and such a success.

High Tech

1:25pm High Tech Industry Overview: Preparing for Tomorrow’s Design and Manufacturing Challenges Olivier Ribet, Vice President of High Tech Industry, Dassault Systèmes High technology is no longer an independent industry, separate from industries such as automobiles and washing machines. In fact, computer science and electronics engineering competency is now mission critical for virtually all industries. Manufacturers of complex devices must especially be competent at not only designing in control systems, but also designing those control systems themselves. Multi-disciplinary engineering competencies ranging from semiconductor design to software development to PCB design to systems control are all required. This session reviews the current family of Dassault Systèmes High Tech solution experiences, their future directions and applicability to manufacturing of tomorrow’s intelligent devices. Capabilities covered will be innovation and ideation, time-to-market acceleration, design cost reduction, reliability enhancement and customer experience enhancement.

1:55pm Critical Success Factors for the Coming System-on-Chip Perfect Storm Michael Munsey, Director of Semiconductor Strategy, Dassault Systèmes The internet of things is predicted to add fifty-seven billion new devices to the Internet in the next five years. That’s roughly nine times the number of cell phones and fifty-seven times the number of cars in use today. All of these new connected devices will have one or more integrated circuits driving their behavior. And because their purpose will vary greatly, the demand for an even broader range of integrated circuits will be unprecedented. SoC design methodologies and infrastructure will need to evolve to support shorter time to market and more product variation and complexity. This session will cover key process and system capabilities needed to succeed in this coming perfect storm.

2:25pm Internet of Things Alex Blanter, Partner, A.T. Kearney Internet of Things (IoT) is a revolution that everyone is talking about these days, and it is fully warranted given its business and social potential. That being said, do we know what IoT actually is and how it will affect companies, industries and societies? From our A.T. Kearney research and practical work it is clear that there is a great deal of confusion and uncertainty around IoT. This presentation will focus on cutting through all this noise and providing a perspective on IoT solutions and opportunities, and will also share A.T. Kearney’s proprietary estimates of economic impacts of IoT and suggest possible strategic responses from the companies operating in different areas of the overall IoT solutions ecosystem (with specific examples for semiconductor and systems manufacturing companies).

4:20pm Qualcomm: Enhancing Physical Design Implementation with Pinpoint Dwight Galbi, Principal Engineer, Qualcomm, Inc. Qualcomm is a world-leading provider of wireless technology and services. Hear from Qualcomm about how they collaborated with the Dassault Systèmes team to customize and use the ENOVIA Pinpoint decision support system to enhance their physical design implementation process. Pinpoint has allowed Qualcomm’s DSP team - including architects, logic designers, and physical design engineers - to use a common web-based interface tool to communicate implementation issues across different geographical locations in a time-efficient manner. By allowing different groups of the design teams to work together using a “layout centric” model, Qualcomm’s designers can view complex timing paths, area, and IR drop distributions with respect to the physical layout while also gaining insight into how these traditionally different metrics interact when viewed together in a unified layout view to improve the overall quality of the design implementation.

4:45pm ENOVIA Synchronicity DesignSync Experience at Freescale Semiconductor Avery De Marr, Application Engineering Manager for Process Design Kits (PDK), Freescale Semiconductor This presentation will describe the ENOVIA Synchronicity DesignSync infrastructure within Freescale Semiconductor, including how DesignSync is used to distribute integrated circuit designs and know-how intellectual property (IP) between different sites and the tools involved in this process which allows for fast workspace generation from a central product lifecycle management (PLM) system.

5:10pm Atmel Corporation: Semiconductor Product Lifecycle Management: Challenges and Opportunities Sabyasachi Bose, Chief Information Officer and Vice President, Atmel Corporation Atmel Corporation product data management landscape is comprised of disparate systems with inconsistent business processes. Lack of a single version of the truth manifests itself in product master data issues in downstream ERP and SCM systems and has also resulted in quality issues and “misbuilds” in manufacturing. Escalating design costs, growing product complexity, shrinking average sales prices, complex supply chains and shortened cycles of time to market require stringent product lifecycle management. This discussion will cover how Atmel is implementing Dassault Systèmes ENOVIA platform to replace the disparate legacy systems with the goal to achieve one standard semiconductor specific product lifecycle management process across all the business units and product lines.

5:35pm Roundtable Discussion: The Future of the Internet of Things Alex Blanter, Partner, A.T. Kearney Olivier Ribet, Vice President of High Tech Industry, Dassault SystèmesSp Moderators Alex Blanter and Olivier Ribet will be leading the Roundtable Discussion along with all High Tech Track Speakers.
