Cumbria U16 MLD/SLD tag RUGBY FESTIVAL 2017 10.00am - 12.00pm Wednesday 29th March 2017 Penrith Leisure Centre Southend Road, Penrith, CA11 8JH Welcome...

... to the Cumbria MLD/SLD Tag Rugby Festival 2017 which is part of the Cumbria School Games programme. This is one of the County Finals taking place between now and the summer, providing a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire hundreds of children and young people across the county to take part in more competitive school sport.

Today’s competition is for the leading secondary school teams that have been successful in their respective district competitions. The Cumbria would like to see the development of disability rugby in schools expand and it is hoped that this event will encourage more young people with learning difficulties to play and enjoy competitive rugby and be used as a catalyst for ongoing participation and development. Competitors develop many skills by taking part and we would hope that ultimately many are enthused to continue to explore competitive sport both in school and in local clubs. If you are interested in doing more sport you can find activities atwww.cumbriaschoolgames.org

A special word of thanks must go to the large number of volunteers helping today who have been trained to support athletes and teams during today’s event.

Whether you are a spectator, volunteer or athlete we hope you enjoy the event. Please give the teams and young leaders the support, respect and encouragement that they so richly deserve.
