CAROLINE OUELLETTE 4 Time Olympic Gold Medalist Hockey Career: Won four Olympic Gold Medals with the National Women’s Hockey Team (NWT) (2002, 2006, 2010, 2014). 2014 Olympic Team Captain. Assistant captain from 2007 to 2013. Participated in 12 IIHF World Championships; winning 6 gold medals and 6 silver medals from 1999 to 2015 with the NWT. Third All-Time in Scoring with the NWT. All-time leading scorer in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL). Member of the Montreal Canadiennes in the CWHL, winner of the 2009, 2011 and 2012 Clarkson Cup. 2003 & 2008 NCAA National Championship titles with Minnesota Duluth as an athlete and Community Involvement & Work: Owner of Not-for-Profit Organization Célébration Hockey Féminin Caroline Ouellette; a female hockey event that welcomed over 1200 female hockey players aged from 5 to 15 and involved 8 Olympians as coaches and guest speakers. Owner of Caroline Ouellette Hockey Camps in Quebec, PEI, New Brunswick and Newfoundland in collaboration with Hockey Canada 2022 Project. Owner of Caroline Ouellette Hockey Caravan, a Hockey Quebec program that travels across the province to offer free hockey sessions and conferences about the olympic journey to young female hockey players. Reached out to over 250 female hockey players in 2014-15 in Richelieu, West Island and Quebec City. Recipient of the YWCA Women of Distinction award in 2014 in the sport and play field. Part of the largest expedition ever to ski to North Pole in support of True Patriot Love Foundation in April 2014. Right to Play Athlete Ambassador. Visited a Right to Play program in Benin, Africa. Recipient of 2013 Isobel Gathorne-Hardy Award. 2018-19 WCHA WOMEN'S LEAGUE RECORD BOOK WCHA TOP 10 PLAYERS FIRST 10 YEARS THE WCHA HONORED A ‘TOP 10 PLAYERS OF THE FIRST 10 YEARS’ IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LEAGUE’S 10TH ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN OF 2008-09. THE HONOREES INCLUDED TWO PATTY KAZMAIER MEMORIAL AWARD WINNERS, WCHA PLAYERS OF THE YEAR, ALL- AMERICANS, AND OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALISTS The University of Minnesota, the University of Minnesota Duluth and the University of Wisconsin, the teams which have won national championships and turned the Western Collegiate Hockey Association into the best league in women’s hockey, each placed three players on the WCHA’s Top 10 Players of the First 10 years, as announced by the league office on Feb. 26, 2009. The WCHA marked its 10th season of women’s hockey in 2008-09, with the first season of league play coming in 1999-2000. The top players of the decade included two Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award winners (Jessie Vetter went on to win the Kazmaier in 2009), WCHA Players of the Year, All-Americans and Olympic Gold medalists. It included one active player. In addition to players from Minnesota, Wisconsin and Minnesota Duluth, the team also included one player from Ohio State. “In this our anniversary season of celebrating 10 years of women’s WCHA hockey, we recognize 10 of the names that have helped make this Association such a success,” said Sara Martin, WCHA Women’s Commissioner. “In a decade that has seen such tremendous development and growth of our sport, we today salute our 10 best players.
